Immigration-ception as immigrant complains about immigration! :D

I never said racism, I said irony as people from the UK migrate to other countries siting immigration as an issue.

But you're missing the key point. Immigration when controlled is fine. Nobody is proposing a prison state where you can't enter or leave or you're shot.

Hundreds of thousands immigrating is out of control.

I wonder whether immigration makes us less or more racist. I remember while growing up in Dumfries around 30 years ago seeing a black woman walking down our high street and staring at her, not in a malicious way just that i'd never seen a black person other than on television before, it was the same when i heard tourists with (to me at the time) weird accent and languages. When i think back the people of that town were quite racist and wonder whether that's still prevalent in the younger generation now that the place really is culturally mixed.

I soon got over the curiosity when i moved from there to Glasgow and people from other countries were the norm, but i imagine in small towns it's had an impact one way or the other over the years.

Free movement of people across the EU is one of its founding principals, and to be honest the only way we can control that is to leave and that would be much worse for the common man (in my view, and from reports I have read)

Seeing as UKIP now want to class children born to migrants in Britain as migrants I worry for the future of the UK, including my own grandchild who happens to be half-Polish. So if UKIP gets in power what happens to him? Do we send half of him back? :) Do we send Nigel Farage's half-German children back too?

Some positive spin for Cameron - the Tories have done so well in getting the UK out of recession that even more people want to live here :p

The Tory MP on the Daily Politics show is embarrassing. :D

According to him we shouldn't be looking at the numbers just the contribution immigrants make.

Did he miss the Conservative pledge?

It may not be racist, but it is hypocritical.

Bit harsh calling someone's girlfriend a hypocrite. Personally I don't think it is hypocritical at all - just because we let one immigrant in doesn't mean we have to let anyone who wants to come here in.

I'm guessing most of the people migrating from the UK will be adding value to the country they are moving to, like the people who retire to Spain with their life savings. So we are losing people who contribute to our economy and gaining vast amounts of people who won't. Not an issue?

I see it as an issue for Spain. If the Spanish people perceived any problems with British immigrants in the area were significant enough, I would support any reasonable action taken by them to curb the problem. It's their country, they ought to be able to defend it.
