Crashing oil price

Oil goes up Immediate fuel price increases!

Oil goes down oh well it's bcause we already bought the oil for the fuel we can't put it down

Thieves

Don't be silly, when do they ever lower the cost of oil at the pumps just because the market does.

Quite a lot - are you blind or have you not noticed the fall from 133.9p to the current price of 118.9p in some areas of the country?

Not really, still far to high and it's nothing short of robbery, fuel prices are a total rip in this country.

Because of the enormous tax and duty component of the price. Thats why a 30% drop in oil price does not equate to a 30% drop in product price.

If oil was totally free of charge, transporting it to a refinery cost nothing, refining it into petrol and delivering and selling it was also free of charge, a litre of petrol would STILL cost almost 70p!

Prices were at about 131 round here and have since dropped to 124. Not as dramatic as the 134 to 119 price drop mentioned above, but they have been going down.

It is not the "High cost of Fuel" It is the "High cost of Government"!

its almost as if they need the increased revenue to buy the oil for next weeks at the pumps at the higher price isn't it.

No it's not.

The margins in retail fuel are almost non existent. Price fixing doesn't work because the supermarkets are too keen to run almost zero margin.

If you wish to whinge about the high price of fuel aim the whinge at the government, which given whinging about government is what you enjoy most I'm surprised you've not seized this opportunity to do so :D

Still getting my diesel for £1.23, cheapest its been for years!! So yes

Seen tesco doing diesel for £1.22 earlier

Just so you guys know - the price of oil you see here: http://www.bloomberg.com/energy/ for example, is for contracts 2 months in advance - so there are more cuts coming and will hopefully reflect further price drops better.

EDIT: if anyone can tell me the price Brent Crude must maintain to remain profitable I would dearly love to know. I can't believe it is $70.00 a barrel right now. People keep saying it's been this price a few years ago but there has been a lot of inflation since then.
