Want to start driving lessons again after ~10 year gap. What do I need

I started learning to drive in my late teens but never saw it through. Now I want to pick it up again but have lost my provisional and, besides, I think it's probably expired by now.

I tried using the motoring.direct.gov.uk thing to apply for a replacement but it wouldn't recognise my details and the DVLA's own website is bloody useless.

So does anyone know what my course of action should be here?

I'd create a new account or, apply for your provisional via the post office using the appropriate form.

Yes lots of this. I'm hoping to get it done in less than 20 lessons at most though.

But in terms of getting a provisional I'm still not sure what to do.

Get the D1 from a Post Office and send it off to DVLA
