Looking at getting the front door replaced and all the offers I've seen are get the front done and get the back for free.

So many different options but no idea. Want something strong, secure, long lasting and insulated.

What we got now is crap. It's a new build that's 6 years old. The door has twisted, gone yellow and blistered.

Front door get a composite door and upvc on the back, both will be multi point locking using a euro cylinder barrel lock. Unless your back door faces the street there really is no point in going with anything g other than upvc.

Cool thank you

I'd always recommend hardwood but it depends on your budget.

The deal i've looked at i £600 and you get both

£600 for the front and then you get back free.

I've a different company coming on weds to quote. Offered a buy back deal. I would say who but the smart ass has moved the leaflet

Another vote for composite at the front. Far better looking and more secure than PVC.

Quick question on same topic, I live in a secured flat building so its just one door internal to the block. Decent UPC and Lock acceptable or should I still go composite.

Why do you say that about upvc at the back? They'll have more time in the back for breaking in so surely the front door wouldn't matter as much? Everyone I know gets broken in through the rear (ooer)

Or is that the point? Even a composite won't stop them?

And op, don't be kidded in to thinking you're getting the back door for free. You're merely paying double for the front door.

Totally this, I know of very few people who have had a front door kicked in, those that I do know of were really side doors in the jitty between two terraces yet I know of quite a few who have had the back door done so surely the security should be the other way round!

Personally I'd always want wood for aesthetic reasons but if that wasn't an option I'd go composite, UPVC doors and windows look horrible.

99% (in my experience and recent poll in my local area) of break in's are windows not doors, as doors tend to be the strongest locking (unless you leave the keys on the inside of the door!) and there for its easier to break a window and get in than try to force a door.

Personally I would go for a composite on the front for looks and upvc on the back for practicality, locking wise they are both the same so not much in it unless you composite is a rock door.

Just had a different company come round. Composite front and UPVC back, all fitted got a deal of £3230. It was £40xx something. Not yet agreed too it as a was pushy

What have you paid for yours?

Paid £450 for upvc half glass back door inc fitting and £1000 for composite front door (three small windows) and two side panels half glass composite structure.

Friend of the family runs his own company so did us a deal showcasing his work!

Im not far from you if his price are right

I'd definatley go with composites, they look far better than UPVC.
As mentioedn above 600 for a pair are either horrendously poor composites or rather expensive UPVC :p

I paid £1150 for a pair of composites, from a larger local company.
