Can anyone recommend a good replacement for my joystick.
I think the old girl might be on her last legs.
Few of the buttons have stuck over the 15 years I have been using her and she is an unwieldy beast.
I have never felt a joystick as comfortable though...
Trying to use her in elite dangerous is hit and miss as only 6 buttons left that work...plus my right hat control goes mental at times.

X55 Rhino haha ;) or on a budget get the Saitek Cyborg F.L.Y. 5, its a nice stick for the price.

Watch that and then decide.

Still got my sidewinder wheel ... Packaged with monster truck madness ... Good times .,, most games like assetto still love it just the rotation that lets it down. Still the best FFB I've felt

I've still got the original gameport versions of both the Sidewinder wheel + joystick AND the USB versions of same. I wangled this by complaining to Microsoft when Vista came out which I think ditched support for gameports. They sent me replacements free of charge with the proviso I send back both gameport devices. Needless to say I "forgot" to do this.

They still kind of worked at the time but it was a phaff to get FF to reliably work with them on a gameport equipped soundcard, which was the reason for the original complaint. Of course, nowadays they would be totally useless, but have kept them in the loft gathering dust for old times sake more than anything.

edit: Hmm, thinks, now off to google Gameport to USB adaptors........ No, definitely useless.

Can't go wrong with a thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X. They're relatively cheap compared to the alternatives (X52, X55 etc) and tends to sell second hand for around the same as new... so it's a no brainer really! Definitely enough buttons, a mid-range indent on the throttle so you accurately and swiftly move to zero/reverse thrust, and in ED you can map buttons to act as "shift" keys so that you essentially double your available buttons. I have three of the buttons on the throttle act as shifts, that then change the function of the stick buttons, essentially giving 4 possible actions for each stick button, including that HAT! Pretty awesome really.
