Has anybody tried a Razer 4G mouse on a clear desk and did it work OK?

Thinking of buying either a Mamba 4G or a Naga Epic Chroma 4G and ideally would like to do away with my old black glass Icemat in favour of just using on the clear glass desk.

Thanks in advance :)

Nobody ever tried a 4G mouse on a clear glass table then? 62 post reads and no replys! :(

Is there anybody out there who has one who could test it for me pleaseeee... I would be eternally grateful

Glass is not a good surface for any optical sensor (including that weird dual sensor monstrosity razer use) due to refraction, some sensors hack it better than others but if you want the best out of the mouse you'll have to use a mouse mat.

Oh well, bought one to try and unfortunately I can now confirm 100% that it does NOT work at all on clear glass. So unfortunately it is being returned...

Could you not just buy a mouse mat lol..

No, I already have an Icemat but I really want to get rid of it for a much cleaner look. I was hoping that the Razer 4G tech (tried a Mamba 4G) would work on glass and give me a better mouse and a nicer looking desk at the same time, but sadly only one of these two objectives was met.

Going to try a Logitech MX Performance mouse now, hoping that the Darkfield Tech will do what it says on the box. Probably a little bit of a compromise on the gaming front but still a big step up over my current old slow wireless mouse.

Well the Logitech Performance MX has arrived and I am happy to say that it works perfectly on clear glass. Completely smooth and seamless - as good as it is on the mat.

So that is Logitech: 1 Razer: 0
:)
