Thing is the templar fight isn't even that difficult. I just find it humorous the amount of misinformation around - to the extent that somebody was under the impression the only way to kill him was to cheese him off the edge and the chest was specifically a reward for doing so !

You gain the chest legitimately by blocking his teleport. This in turn prevents his shield for returning and allows you all to pile on the damage. The only downside is that minotaurs start spawning but that just means you have to work as a team. Dedicate two to minotaur bashing duty (one of them the relic holder) and let the other 4 pile rockets / ice breaker into him.

There are other ways, but it was so much easier and quicker to cheese (especially so on Hard, cuts the time down from little mistakes), so everyone did it and new comers had no chance to learn. Now that it's fixed, let the templar teleport point camping begin!

one good tactic is to bring your bubble bros and put an armor of light bubble on top of the templar spawn point. You can then just sit in it and laugh at everybody trying to shoot you from outside while safely inside the bubble.

Haha someone really thought that? by the time I found about not letting him teleport to get the chest was also the same time the cheese method was explained to me. Only ever done it by taking the shield, attaching him and then letting him teleport then rinse and repeat. Interesting to know though he becomes enraged if you stop him teleporting. Last time I tried it properly the enraged minotaurs were impossible, though that was probably down to being lvl 26/27 and non maxxed weapons.

Can see it being a common request now for there being 2 titans in every raid group for VoG. Though every Titan I have done VoG with hate the jumping puzzle.

He doesn't become enraged if he doesn't teleport. He just gets "angry" with a lot of quick fires at those in its way. Enrage happens a while later... that can be quite... entertaining.

aww man - they nerfed my favourite gun even more! - Monte Carlo has EVEN more reduced range - wtf they nearly killed it last time, it'll be useless now :(

 Monte Carlo range still looks fine to me, it has more than enough range for an assault rifle and its ability got a buff. The stability buff it got looks to be quite large as well.

Wow, that really is the easiest nightfall ever. With a full team dealing solar damage we ran the nightfall twice and the 28 weekly twice in just over an hour :D

Fantastic changes in the new patch. Bungie are really listening to the community and making worthwhile changes to the foundations of the game.

<3 Mythoclast.

The Templar is a really easy fight. Teamwork and communication are the only difficult parts. The actual strategy is fairly simple. However, with the need for 2 titans to secure the additional chest, it might become a tad more troublesome.

you can make the jumping puzzle in one jump off the platform. double jump, then shoulder charge then when falling hit jump again and you will be able to glide the last bit to the other side :P

Patch is good... That is all. :D

Gunna see just how powerful a maxed out Mythoclast is tonight when I do the Nightfall.

If my understanding is correct, it won't do any more damage at the moment. 300 attack = 100% damage on level 30 enemies. 320 attack = 100% damage on level 32 enemies. You never do more than 100% damage AFAIK.

For anyone interested in how the Vex is post-buff (taken from Reddit):

Here's a simple spreadsheet showing you the different damage profiles of the gun, all of these are with the Smart drift control barrel upgrade, apart from the last one.

Players have around 200 health.

Keep in mind the magazine was nerfed from 57, to 35 in this latest patch.

Conclusion?

5 shots to the head will kill with either of the barrel upgrades, meaning you should probably go for smart drift for maximum rekage in the crucible. Keep in mind though 4 headshots and one bodyshot will kill not kill a guardian, with aggressive ballistics though it will kill in four headshots and one bodyshot. There you have it, for the people that were curious.

Not entirely sure that is correct as the player level determines how much of a damage penalty you get. A 323 attack mythocast will still be doing more damage than a 300 damage one regardless of what level enemies you are attacking. So the damage penalty will still apply while attacking higher level enemies even with a 323 attack weapon.

I wouldn't be surprised if 323 will be the new max damage for upcoming exotics and legendaries with maybe a few rare exotics having an even bigger damage cap of ~350. Seems to be a reasonable damage increase as old weapons are still useable while making the new weapons a worthwhile upgrade

Haven’t tried it that way, normally just using the disappearing platforms and end up on the ledge above the one your normally walk along :p

I don't think that damage can go above 100%. So a 300 attack weapon will do 100% damage against <=L30 enemies, but reduced damage to L31+. A 320 attack weapon will do 100% damage on <=L32 enemies. So the Vex attack going up to 320 won't make any difference to the current content, it's all about the raid.

All AFAIK, maybe someone can test it?

Which one is it this week? I like solar damage though, VoC and Icebreaker should make it easy work :)

Never played a titan so only going by other people moaning about it. I can make it from the first platform as a warlock though generally go off second to be sure I will make it, though the fall takes all my health.

I did for 300 attack weapons months ago. Its only against low level enemies that you don't see the increased damage. From 240 attack all the way up to 300 attack I was doing increased damage to enemies from levels ~23-28. Enemies lower level than that I did slightly less damage to but it still scaled with upgrades and enemies in their teens I did the same damage regardless of how many times I upgraded the weapon.

That was all off the top of my head I cant remember the exact level cut off points.

If what you said was true a lv27 character would do the same damage as a lv28 character with the same weapon against a lv28 target. They don't, the lv28 does around 50% extra damage compared to the lv27

Yeah I understand the player level is the other factor, along with attack. I didn't think it was possible to gain any benefit for having an 'over-levelled' weapon. i.e. a 280 attack weapon does same damage against a level 28 as a 300 attack weapon (given same player level).

I'll be finishing off levelling my VoC later so I will do a couple tests if I get a chance, now I'm curious...
