You don't actually have a right to entry to your drive though, only a right to exit it. So it isn't an offence to park in such a way that prevents entry, but is illegal to park someone in.

I live about 10 houses along from a junior school and mindless mothers often park across my drive. It's difficult for my wife when she turns up home with our 18 month old daughter to find some idiot blocking access and all the other space nearby taken up.
I think a lot of people just have no consideration for anyone any more.
I mentioned in another parking thread about the person actually parking IN someone elses driveway while they went to pick their kid up from school!
The householder was most irate when they opened the door to find a strangers car parked there, she just ignored him and drove off.

Its illegal to block you into a drive, but not out of a drive.
Nope, Highway codes says do not do it. It doesn't say you MUST NOT do it, nor does it provide the reference to the relevant law.
It is a recommendation not a legal requirement.
As is the Highway Code itself !
