Police cautions and shotgun license

I won't judge, I've done more drugs than you've had hot dinners no doubt. Nothing wrong with recreational drug use, most are safer than drinking.

The stars align and everything falls into place.

OP only 3 years since been caught with cocaine isn't going to help (I would think it will be as much about the people you associate with than the small amount of drugs)

Ask your local FEO he's the one that will make the decision.

Hampshire don't use street cautions, but my understanding is that these aren't formal cautions which usually need to be authorised by a sgt and therefore won't show on a CRB check. That said they may be recorded on PNC, but like I said, Hampshire don't use them so I don't have any personal experience.

Here they need to be authorised by a sergeant, and I think are only recorded locally. As far as I'm aware they don't get put on PNC, it's just a crime recorded with the person as the offender, and intel recorded on our local systems.

However, you can't give them for class A anyway. It'd be arrest, summons or attend the police station at a later date for a caution. I wasn't aware of any forces that issued street cautions for Class A.

If you filled in any forms, I'm guessing it was a street caution.

In which case you've been recorded as being an offender for the crime of "possession of a Class A drug" in the PNC and it will light up like a Christmas Tree when the local Firearms Licensing Officer runs a check on you for the SGC application.

If you fill in the SGC application truthfully, you'll get a polite rejection letter a few weeks later.

If you lie on the form about your caution, expect a personal visit from the police as you've just committed another offence.

Load of nonsense.

You have to put it on your form, matters little how long ago, if it happened it has to go on there. If you don’t it will go against you when they discover it themselves upon doing their checks.

Will you get a SGC? Probably not, if there has been evidence of Violence, Drinking or Drugs, or any reason for you to lose control of yourself they will decline.

But you can but try, it’s your £50's, I got my SGC a few years back now, and they will interview you a couple of times and also phone some-one that can account for your nature, so you have a chance.

OP hasn't been cautioned, (they would know if they had) so won't have to declare it.

If anything they probably completed an amnesty form.

Do they use cannabis warnings ? (assuming the person in question fits the criteria)

The last place in this whole wide world to ask this question is OCUK GD - I mean they are telling you their life stories and who is humping who and which one should I hump forever.

Get yourself on a shooting forum - No perhaps not - they are no different to here.

Put it down and hope for the best.
