Hey guys, appreciate we get a lot of these threads but would just like some additional input.

Current spec:
Z97 mobo
Haswell Intel G3258 CPU (oc'd to 4.1ghz)
16gb DDR3 (1333mhz)
GTX 460 1024mb
350w PSU

Just looking for a mid range gpu to replace this with. I've looked at both the GTX 750Ti and the Radeon R9 270 and cant decide between the 2. If anyone has any other recommendations that'll be appreciated.

Will any of the mentioned cards give a nice performance increase? Sorry been out the loop on gpus for a few years now!

Thanks, but I just want to know if my PSU could comfortably run a R9 270/x

Anyone?

Probably not. I think it draws 267W I could be wrong but this is the requriment from a Diamond AMD R9 270X card and also Sapphire too.

500W (or greater) power supply with at least one 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended

Note it needs 2 x 6pin PCI Express power connectors. You usually get a Molex to 6 pin cable with the card if you have not got enough 6 pin PCI Express connectors.

According to Anandtech's bench the total system power consumption during gaming is as follows.

750Ti 184w (during Crysis 3)

270 239w (during Crysis 3)

270x 267w (during Crysis 3)

460 302w ( during battle field 3)

To be honest I am quite surprised that they are lower than the 460, I've included the 750Ti as at first I thought it might have been a suggestion due to the low rated PSU that you are using, but it would seem that any of the aforementioned cards would use less than the 460 you are currently using.

Hope this helps.
