Terminator franchise reboot

stupid retcon. I am happy to watch more from the same universe of franchises i like, even when its not very good, because it continues the story/fleshes it out more. But when you retcon it into oblivion it means I don't care about it unless its actually better, which in this case, isn't going to happen.

My girlfriend actually loves salvation, she thinks its one of the best romance films ever. Seriously...I'm not sure which is worse, her thinking that is that good, or that a terminator film is perceived as romantic :/
I think she isn't right for you :p:D

what time is the full trailer due?
I still cant believe Arnold is going to be in this lol. I wish they would have just Benjamin buttoned his face.

I'm pretty excited for it I loved the films when I was a kid, it does look like the T1 and T2 put together with some extra scenes thrown in and some of the CGI especially on the younger Arnie looked a bit dodgy but its still early days

I love how people keep saying cgi Arnold in the comments but its just stock footage from T1 of him so the only way it can look bad is because its 1984 film footage.

Well that looks awful.

T1/T2 was a success so lets just do a mish mash of the same story but not the same story because we can use time travel to confuse everyone and make up any plot that we want.

Still, so much want. :D

Some of that is literally shot for shot remaking scenes from the first two films. The rest just looks silly.

The first two terminator films and the Sarah Connor chronicles are enough. I'm out.

Trailer was better than I was expecting. I don't think much of the casting at all.

Am I right in thinking that they haven't ignored the timelines from the previous films but instead have suggested that they have changed/been merged/overwritten?

Elements of classic scenes from the first two films, mashed together.

Hmmmmm, not convinced! Emilia Clarke just doesn't seem "hard" enough for the role* and messing around with the time-travel plot seems weak too. What would be wrong with a prequel film showing the start of the war and ending with Kyle Reese going back?

* I know in T1 she's only 19 which fits with Emilia's age but she's been raised by Arnie since she was a child and, as an actress, it looks to me like Emilia just can't convey the amount of hardness or grit that is required, i.e she doesn't look haunted by the knowledge of Judgement Day, she just looks like a pretty teenage without a care in the world. Just look at her saying the line at the start of the trailer "Come with me if you want to live" "Move it soldier", they sound terrible with no edge at all.

Casting is ****, but it does intrigue me a lot more given the timeline crossover/blend/rewrite with T1.
At least we get the lead up to Reese being sent back.

Oh, and...

It gets worse... And why are they at the Top Gear test track?

LOL, that speech from Connor looked like it was in the Top Gear studio :D

I can see why Cameron said that it *could* be good based on the script he read. In theory, the concept is pretty cool. Whether they can execute it properly is questionable.

And yeah, they really, really need to stop saying "Come with me if you want to live" ffs...

Not impressed, why cant they just leave certain franchises alone? I mean sure do another Terminator if u can get James Cameron on board that would be fine but they are just milking all the franchises lately.

What doesn't make sense about flesh ageing?

Granted, it is just a premise to explain Arnie's presence.

Just the fact as you said its something to explain Arnie in the movie, we've never before had aged terminators now all of a sudden there is. They've already rewritten the rules regarding time travel a few times in the movies (only living tissue can time travel but a t1000 and a tx somehow managed it, one being liquid metal was bad enough but the other being liquid metal with a metal skeleton underneath??) now they just seem to be complete pratting around with everything.

I'm just waiting on Arnie whipping out a zimmer frame with machine-guns in the legs. :(

After viewing the trailer as said above they just seem to be recreating shots from the other 2 movie's the t1000 eye regeneration, the now overused and stale catchphrases. The t1000 yet again dressed as a cop...swat van being chased by the t1000. Seems to be almost no creativity in it at all. Its like they're just taking some moments of the previous movie's and stitching them together.
