Best night in for ages

Before we moved I had a large lounge and had B&W speakers at front and Good quality rear speakers to go with the surround amp - When moved here to bungalow I got rid of all speakers and stuff but kept Onkyo 606 and DVD player and set them up here with new set of Tannoy surround speakers which went on wall and Sony TV-- In 5 yrs we have been here I doubt if we have had it on much as whole lot sounds awful --

Tonight wife is out so sat down to listen to music -- what load of rubbish - was about to turn it off and thought "Menu" - What a revalation - Speaker adjustments - poked and hoped on few settings and Eva Cassidy was sitting there in front of me just singing to me - I could place all the instruments - and it was clear as a bell - the blanket had gone.

Isn't it nice when it all comes together for once.

Yea well - Thought it was crap speakers - I don't know if anyone else felt same but Onkyo menu is pain to navigate. - I can't get it up on screen I am looking at so can't listen while I am poking and hoping in menu. Could be way I have connected it but not going down behind all the kit just to check.

Wine didn't help either :D

If your menu isn't displayed on your screen you're using the wrong output on the rear for the HDMI. There is a main and a sub, the menu is only displayed on the main output.

Or you have on screen display turned off.

This would allow you to view the menu on screen whilst making adjustments.

Had loads of amps from Onkyo and not had any issues with them.
