Firefox 34.0 vs 34.0.5

I've noticed if you do an automatic update you are update to 34.0.

If you download a fresh copy, you are offered 34.0.5. :confused:

Only difference I can see is .5 offers:

Default search engine changed to Yahoo! for North America

Was just wondering since it appears that 34.0.5 only changed out the standard search engine to Yahoo for the US and Canada. So it might not be pushed as an update for British users.

Firefox has just turned into another net nanny as a site that used to work in 33.1 now isn't even accessible because SSLv3 is no longer secure (and there isn't even an option to allow access).

Shockwave Flash as an add on is Abissmal and crashes every so often. Why is it that they mess it up after a few updates.

Decided to try Firefox again after the update, but as mentioned above Flash seems to crash a lot compared to Chrome (even after disabling Chrome's internal Flash). It seems to crash more often if I have multiple Flash content spread across different sites...

I don’t find flash a problem in Firefox. In fact when I tested out Chrome, the one thing it did seem a bit weak on was flash content.

Also never ever have I seen it before in all my time, but Chrome managed to crash my ATI display drivers! :eek:

Never get that with Firefox.

The only thing that Chrome was better than Firefox was multi thread performance. Supposedly Mozilla are working on it and should be dropping in February.

Yeah, multi-process Firefox should help a lot.

Was you using the inbuilt pepper Flash in Chrome or the external one? I disabled the inbuilt one as it was pants.

I would say that is a fault with the drivers rather than Chrome though. Chrome or any app has no or little control over the hardware display of the image, GC card drivers do. A failing driver is like not handling something passed to it for whatever reason. Even if the data passed contains an error, the error should be handled to ensure it does not cause a failure in the driver software.

In built one. Didnt know you could use an external one with Chrome.
