Alec Salmond for Prime Minister?

Aren't they expecting to get a load of SNP MP's at the election? I suppose he wants to make sure the English don't forget what Scotland was promised in the referendum...

He doesn't give a toss about the people he just likes the politics game, and the £64,000 salary and the expenses.

Well as far as I heard he donates a big portion of that away anyway, so what difference does it make?

Anyway, he's probably still a safer bet than the current mongrels. :p

He has been talking about what he will do for the constituency he is standing in, improving transport and the NHS.

What did he do then when he was First Minister?

Put up something that,

A. Was not Labour.

B. Was not Conservative.

Beyond that, i cant really say what the SNP have done from my perspective (labour led council doing a wonderfully crap job as always).

I think it is redundant now, as far as he is concerned, he annihilated both labour and conservative votes (mostly labour obviously).

If I thought for one second he'd be willing to represent the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland instead of just Scotland I'd love to have him as PM - despite the obvious impossibility of an SNP MP becoming PM. Whatever you think about Alec Salmond he at least someone who went into politics because of a genuine desire to effect positive change for his voters, rather that our current batch of politicians who decided politics was a viable career choice aged 16/17.

Pretty much spot on how I feel too Scorza, many people don't like him partly because he's usually fighting on the other side of the fence, if he was on your side you'd be glad to have him. Bottom line is that he's fantastic at putting other politicians on the spot, in a way that nobody sadly on the Labour front bench can. He also stands up for what he believes in (whether I agree or not) and that's very, very rare these days where politicians switch their allegiance at the first opportunity.

Given money to the middle classes while pretending they are helping the poor.

Forced councils to deliver significantly increased services (social care, free school meals, etc) while slashing council budgets.

Cut the NHS budget year on year.

Spent our money fighting the Information Commissioner in an attempt to hide their failings.

How's that for starters?

The SNP, while left wing, are more practical as to what can be done with available cash rather than borrowing, borrowing, borrowing ala Labour.

The SNP plan post independence was "borrow borrow borrow."

Their predictions for independent finance were based on the same magic money tree Labour rely on. Even so far as using oil incomes from a couple of years ago because they were higher than more recent tax receipts.

Except that's not true, is it?

Doesn't sound like the actions of a man motivated by money and expenses but please, draw your own conclusions.

Don't be fooled, while he genuinely has a desire to see positive change, people taking more responsibility for themselves and each other, a fairer society, etc. etc. these are all secondary to his true desires which go much further and are far more damaging.

He is one of those people who believes the pinnacle of a civilised society is one that has divested itself of all force rather than one that can wield absolute force with absolute responsibility and that you can make bad people become good purely by leading by example.
