nvidia gtx 970 or 980 upgrade from zotac 660ti

Really.
My brother is spending £1500 on a new build for xmas, and ive even told him to go 970 at 1080p, he will get a Superflower PSU, so if the 970 whines ill stick it to Gibbo lol!!
His main gripe atm is where he goes 6 core i7 or 4 core i7. I dunno how good this new DDR4 is for load speeds and gaming?
But i cant wait to see what his 970 does
Glad you read the thread and yeah i agree, theres no chance im buying a new PSU when its been sound up until the 970 hit the scene lol.
The only thing with the Galax 970 is it has 1 year less warranty and problems mostly occur around the 2nd year, Evga has a 5 year warranty atm and they offered to give me a new 970 if i register the card so not sure if that would be a good idea or not? Dunno how long it takes for them to get the card, they are in Germany? They said they would send a replacement the next day after getting the faulty card back and then i have 5 years warranty which would be nice! But if the second card whines i dunno what they would do? I may ask them since the Evga is now OOS at OCUK...

Yeah no idea on evga stuff never had it , but yeah this warranty 2 yr on the galax is a bit stingy would hope for 3 yrs at least eh .
i usually get something in my head and click buy straight away but something in the last few days is bugging me as a gut feeling not too and wait !!

Well after a long 2 weeks searching reviews on what cards to go for 970 0r 980 and what make to go with i went with the gigerbyte g1 980 gaming card ,
ordered last night for my xmas box
i was gonna go withy the galax hall of fame untill overclockers knocked the g1 down to £439.99 bargain thanks overclockers .
