Agreed, the trackclip and a baseball cap works just as well as the track clip pro for me, might be a different story if you have a bright room or wear glasses though.

I've got both a bright room and wear specs, never misses a beat, it's about reflections, if the light isn't coming off the specs you're fine, the ceiling light is behind me and out of view of the trackir so no issues :)

Boom today I'm averaging 3.2mil every 40-45mins its truely epic, python here I come!

I know asking for location a non starter as I would not give up my golden goose either but a hint at what you are trading as im struggling to make more than 100k per trip and the grind up to a ASP is killing me............

Its all about the rare commodities, you need a 15LY jump range roughly , buy rare commodities from Lave and turn in at eranin its about 150 LY roughly maybe slightly less, will net you around 14k profit/ton then you buy from eranin and take it back to lave. Simple as chips.. I started in a hauler yesterday I'm now in a pimped out Type-6 with 100t and 18.44LY jump range making 1.4-1.6mil/trip each trips takes around 20mins. Taking it further increases profit (upto 20k profit/t cap @ 180 LY ish).

NPCS and Players will be after your blood but I find it pretty easy to escape interdictions or get back into supercruise, I'll be in a tricked out python tomorrow!

I love it and fully suggest you start on solo, and goto Open once you have capital it's a rush.

Some complain it's too easy or not balanced, but it takes time to build up to my profits and above, the station often has less amounts than your full cargo hold (Refreshes every 10min with new stock)

sometimes to fill my 100t hold can take 20-30min, but often its more like 10min for full hold.

and don't get an ASP yet, you are going to want at least 15mil + money for ASP to get it in good running order, start on a Type 6 and save up

I cheat and use this route planner: https://cmdr.club/routes/

I went from hauler @ 200k / per one way trip
to cobra @ 400k/ per one way trip
to type 6 @ 1.6mil / per one way trip

Check out Aluin near eranin and rakapilla for FSD drives!
I started you off with the route I started on, But I have since found another one involving different stations that for now I will closely guard as its not well known! Keep looking, always check your markets the specials are highlighted you can't miss them :)

Bought the stick. Got a big bit of mdf and I'll buy some short adjustable legs so it can site like a dinner plate on the sofa. I'll also look up short wireless keyboards.

Now... I know NOTHING about the game. Any decent idiots guides?

Gamepad is ok, mate switches between it and mouse/keyboard. He's probably going to move to a cheap HOTAS after Christmas (assuming his wife took the hint lol).

I'd recommend watching Brumsters vids, he paces them well, not exactly idiots guides but he uses clear, plain english and isn't up himself :p

Anyone using a pad with this game?

360 pad... Remove deadzones, make left stick push to swap between roll & yaw. Right stick click to Supercruise...

Never need to use KB :)

Seems to work OK, not as good as a stick but works for me.

I have a joystick but also a parrot that wants to eat it and the cable for it :'(
At least a pad I can keep from him.

That padding looks awfully thin.... I get bum ache on my office chair with twice that amount :-)

But seriously, staggering work dude. If only you could mass produce them you'd probably have a market..

Protip: Turn up speakers and listen to the bass as you enter a station and power thrusters down, gets me going every time!

Agreed, the in-station sound is just awesome. In a Cobra the way the engine moan reverberates when you throttle up after launching is fabulous. With the Rift and a decent pair of cans it's just ridiculous.

I played with the lens distance screws on my Rift at the weekend, I were glasses normally, but not in the rift, but I found that setting the screws differently for each eye has given me a much sharper picture. Worth playing about with.

Thanks Khrest :) The padding on the back is very firm and really comfortable. The main panel one under my butt may need some more but seems fine at the moment. I intend to make that one detachable so I can add more foam if needed. Adjustability post-build is going to be key for this.

Very nice work. Id love to try something like this myself. What sort of tools and materials do you use? The edges have a really nice bevel, cant imagine its done with just a wood file. What type of saw do you us to cut the pieces into shape? Do you glue and screw it together?

Thanks weyland yutani. The tools I use are a jigsaw, regular saw, power drill/driver, router (chamfer bit for the bevel, flush trim bit for the straight edges, rabbet bit of the inlays), a small Black and Decker work bench and a couple of clamps. Very occasionally I will use a circular saw. A limited set of tools but all that is necessary really.

Most things are glued and screwed together, usually using wood batons as MDF just splits if drilled/screwed from the sides. Some elements are bolted on using bolts with threaded inserts - they are removable that way.

Edit: Thanks halfmad :)
