Who are your favourite tv chef ?

Grew to like Ramsay over the years, he was good in the original KN's. Marco Pierre White's rare older stuff is good, Oliver does some ok stuff, Anthony Bourdain i pretty decent.

Best quote I ever heard about Delia. "Delia Smith is to cooking what the missionary position is to secs."

Not a fan of hers.

Like Nigel Slater, Michel roux Jr., Marcus Waring.

as long as it's not that old Italian guy on a Saturday morning who cooks the most boring stuff you have ever seen

I struggle to think of many tv chefs I don't like.

Nigel slater does my head in purely because he talks about "Just got some leftover caviar and a spare faberge egg here so I'm going to add 15 other ingredients, most of which you would need to go out and buy, and make the best of my leftovers"

He's just unrealistic.

Nigella makes too much washing up, as does Jamie Oliver. "Takes 5 minutes" yeah and then 20 minutes washing everything because you've used about 20 extra pans and every machine in the kitchen.

Rick Stein and Floyd are among my favourites, like the Hairy Bikers, Delia, Tom Kerridge. Two greedy italians and the various spinoffs of that.

I can take or leave heston, I don't consider what he does cookery so much as science - it's more like watching art attack, you watch it but you're never going to recreate what he's doing.

Two Fat ladies I like to watch if it's on, even though some of the food is questionable.

Rachel Khoo - love her simple cooking, and the fact she lives in Paris :p She's also rather easy on the eye which helps..

Sure she's not a Michelin starred chef, but her cooking is far more accessible for someone like me, and I more often than not enjoy rustic easy to prepare food.

That's precisely my main problem with him. He'll start a recipe by saying something like "Have you ever wondered what to do with the leftover Jerusalem artichoke and penguin breast in the fridge? With the simple addition of some white truffle and smoked allosaurus, you can turn it into a simple, rustic supper. If you don't have any allosaurus, smoked armadillo will do at a pinch"

**** OFF SLATER YOU PATRONISING MIDDLE CLASS ****!!

Can't stand James Martin but I like his recipes. Same with Oliver.

Rick stein is probably my favourite, I like the feel of Whittingstall's shows, and it's always interesting.
