Hi

I have just received some really useful advice in another topic regarding upgrading my system, now I just can't decide on the case.

I'm looking for something quiet and black (or mostly black) and fairly plain.

I have an i54670k and that is cooled with a Corsair H100i.

I am about to buy a new mobo and PSU and must decide on a case, the quieter the better, my pc sits right next to me and I currently have a cheap case and it's thin and therefore very noisy.

I liked the BeQuiet 800 (black /orange) but £90 seems a bit excessive.

Anybody have any recommendations or success with regards to this cooler?

Thanks,

Roo

I have my H100i installed in a Corsiar 650D.
Excellennt case & great build quality although most people seem to have missed this one out & gone for the 750D instead

I paid £130 for mine a year ago, but I've seen them for sub £100 now. Worth it IMO

Corsair 330R... This is a great case, had a door to reduce fan noise from the front of the case. It also has some nice sound deadening on the side panels.

If that's a bit expensive for you they do a 230T which is a bit cheaper and the Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 Mid Tower Gaming Case which is nice and cheap but don't know if it offers the same level as sound deadening as the 330R.

Thanks for the replies,

The Corsair 330R seems like an affordable option, how does that fair up to the B~eQuiet 800 would you think?

And that would fit the H100i? Thats around £65 - £70 now anything else as good at that price range?

Oh super, i'm not sure what a TWO offer is though. Maybe I should hold out then, as I have to order the PSU here also,

How does that compare to the Corsair 330R?

Yeah the H100i should fit in that fine. I don't have any opinions on the BeQuite but it does look well put together.

Fractal R4 or the soon to be released R5.... should be around the £80 mark I've heard. Cant wait to rebuild mine in it, the R4 is awesome to build in... apart from the exposed wires on the front panel mobo headers :-(

The ghost is a nice case, but not all the quiet as it turns out. The padding is nice, and it has loads of room inside, but the fact that it has quite a large hole in the top (for the fans/radiator bear in mind), it still leave the H100i fans pretty audible.

Oh really? That's a problem then because it's the noise of the H100i that really gets to me currently.

I would like to keep using the cooler, but in a much quieter setting, would the R4 be a solution to that?

Or any suggestions, thanks

Well I've got my pc just under my desk, and it's not loud as such, but audible. It's become a little too much for my liking now. Maybe some different fans would be the answer, I'm not sure. Great case for space and cable management, but as a case for lowering sound, it didn't live up to my expectations.

I'm in the market for a new case too, so if I buy anything before you, I'll let you know how I get on. ;)

Cheers for posting that, again he seems to mention the noise, think i'll see what's quieter around the same price point, the H100i sits at the top and that's going to annoy me without any top sound proofing,
