I only use the mount when I have to return to an area I've completed and I want to travel quickly. Otherwise, as you say, it just has too many negatives.
 
Yep don't bother with mounts unless you are in the desert area, then they help a lot, even if the speed increase is minimal.

Saving those npcs in haven is utterly pointless, but like you I did it for completions sake.

There is so much in this game that is really underdeveloped. In my second game I saved different people, and they still all get replaced and just stand around skyhold. It is just poor.

Amazingly, even with the game delayed a year, it honestly feels rushed!
 
Well I caved and bought it, not too bad to start with but I've got a feeling these large MMO style areas are all going to be barren except for the initial one. Is it just me or has the actress doing Leliana's voice got really bad at maintaining it compared to Origins?

I agree! Leliana was much better in origins!
 
Best function of the mounts is getting down cliffs quickly. No fall damage so jump on and jump off the cliff. Does speed things up in that sense.
 
I've heard everyone say that, but I take fall damage whilst on a mount. Barrier works for that as well BTW. Stick a barrier on, take a jump.

Fall damage is one of my pet hates in games!
 
It's awkward because I'm holding back on playing until they push this patch, so I hope they don't delay it.

They also mention they're fixing exploits, which is a shame. I loved the refilling chest exploit :D

It isn't always 100% (sliding down hills seems to occasionally cause fall damage, so be sure to run and jump). I just find it funny how the mounts crumple into a pile when you do it.

64hrs in and still loving it.

And? I'm English but if I tried an accent other than my natural one for god knows how every many lines she had to record it would slip, have you replayed Origins lately? Listen to Origins Leliana and then switch to Inquisition, it's like every sentence starts with the best intentions and slips toward what's presumably her natural accent towards the end.

Accents don't tend to work that way when you are speaking a foreign language though, although I agree that there is a difference. I suspect that it is because her English has improved in the last six years or so. I remember reading that she had to have her lines for DAO written phonetically as she didn't understand all of the words she was saying.
