When selecting tyres for fitting are the advertised prices for fitting each tyre accurate?

The main reason i ask is that some claim to be from £5 per wheel, but i obviously dont want to turn up and be told that this rate is only applicable to say a 14" wheel. This could negate any saving i would make if they turnaround and say it will actually be £10 a corner.

Anyone with any firsthand experience using their fitting service?

The fitting services are provided by the local outfit so the rules could be different for all of them. I'd suggesting calling your preferred one to ask.

Unlike Blackcircles you don't seem to book in at a centre through TyreLeader. Instead it just sets the shipping address to the garage.

I wasn't convinced we wouldn't turn up and find out tyres had been sold to someone else, so have just ordered a set to be delivered to home and will then take it to our nearest fitters ourselves.

I wish i had somewhere close that i trusted to fit my tyres for a decent price. I just wondered if by going through tyreleader i could get a cheaper fitting price than if i rang up and tried to sort it myself.

I have spoken to my local fitter and they have removed themselves from Tyre Leader due to the hassle/confusion involved in the process, specifically related to fitting costs.

If you want to order via Tyre Leader, best bet is to order for delivery and then arrange the fitting independent of that order.

It seems a bit pointless them even offering it really, guess they just use it to draw people in and if any problems arise later when it comes to fitting they just wash their hands with it and claim it's not their problem.

I thought a tenner a corner was pretty much the standard price anyway.

I have found nowhere local to be even remotely competitive to tyre leader / camskill / love tyres / pneus even after considering a tenner a corner to fit.

That being said, my next door neighbour can do up to 17" for me for free, so I don't mind a tenner a corner for the bigger ones.

I ordered my tyres from Tyreleader straight to my house, then took them to a local fitter and had them fitted for £7.50 a corner.

I would never have them delivered to a fitter you don't have a contract with.
If the fitter says they didn't turn up and tyre seller said they did you would have a hell of a time doing anything about it.
Have them delivered to your house and use the list of fitters on one of the more expensive online sellers as then you know they don't mind fitting tyres bought from elsewhere.

... or you could just phone the place and let them know what you are doing. My cheapest local shop were absolutely fine with it. The tyres were delivered directly and then fitted at the price offered. As a bonus they had a Hunter four wheel alignment machine I didn't know about, making it my closest.

I looked at Tyreleader and noted the garages near me and dropped them all an email post-purchase to get a betetr idea of fitting costs.
Of the 5 I emailed, 2 didn't respond, 1 said it depended on the size of the tyre (because that obviously makes a difference) but they didn't get back to me after I told them the size, and the other 2 quoted around £60 for the fitting.

So for me, I instead went to F1 Autocentre and got my 4x F1's fully fitted for £392 all in.

Always order from Camskill and have them fitted by a friend who works at the local tyre place.

After him showing me their supplier prices they pay about 2 quid less per tyre that what I paid

I just ordered Continental Wintercontact TS850s from TyreLeader and had them delivered and fitted via my main Honda Dealer when the car was in for software update (£10 a corner).

It was all straighforward and hassle free but I made the arrangements over the phone with the garage separately and then put in the order.

I tried ringing one of the listed garages and the guy who answered said that the site is pretty misleading.

Turns out that he does fitting for £8 instead of the £6 quoted by the site, still makes it quite a lot cheaper than using other places for the tyres I wanted.
