I need to get a stall sorted in RBWM or nearby, and no way am paying the £3000 fee

Is there a way around? It says private land is excluded so was considering trying to find a tiny privately owned patch, ask for consent and sell there :p

Street Trading

If you are trading on private land you may not need a consent. To confirm the situation you are advised to contact the Licensing Office, using the details above. The landowner may need planning permission and you are advised to contact the Council's Planning Office.

A private land owner would probably charge you rent instead of a licence fee.

Pretty sure you can't just operate a retail business anywhere without proper council approval.

Don't know exactly how markets work, but I'm guessing they have already done that for the area.

Not really related, but next to Charltons football ground is a row of terraced houses with small front yards. A couple of people have bought burger grills and set them up out the front on matchdays. They don't need councils permission and their burgers are nicer and half the price of the grounds ripoff ones.

It's actually worse if they are selling food.

What's to stop someone selling food that makes people ill?

The people you mentioned may get away with it since it is irregular enough and small enough quantities.
