Hi

I managed to get hold of a 3rd GTX780 Classified for a decent price so I decided to give TRI-SLI a go.

I have a Corsair 500R case with a 200mm side fan (also tried with a Bitfenix Spectre 230 mm) my motherboard and CPU only allow 2 slot spacing with the cards and the top card throttles after running heaven for half an hour or so. Ive tried running an aggressive fan profile and tried the side fan as supply and extract but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Can anyone offer up any suggestions other than going water or taking the card out?
Thanks
Scott

Can you remove that hdd cage behind the cards, place the ssd and hdd in the 5.25 bays? Then try bodge mounting a fan to blow air between the cards. It's something ive done before though with dual sli'd gtx 470's.

Not the prettiest but it worked ok.

You could try reversing the air flow: having the side-panel fan and front case fans as output, and ghetto-ing a 120mm fan at the back of the graphics card I/O plate as a cool air intake.

Not sure if it'd make a huge difference due to the design of the ACX coolers and how close the cards are together, but it can't hurt to try.

Another option would be to attach a fan at the IO shields sucking air out between the GPUs while the side fan blows air in?

I bodged a fan right at the end like setter suggested but without moving the drives.

Temps dropped 12c!

I had to do away with large side fan as it would now foul the PCI-E power cables Ive fitted a 140mm as extract on the side instead as the how air seems to be blowing out the sides of the card so putting it to supply would only blow it back in I think.

Thanks very much for the suggestions guys.

Move those hdd's/ssds up into the 5.25 bays and remove the cage, gives the fan more room to breathe (less obstructions) and the air wont be warmed by the storage..

I don't want to buying drive adaptors plus he way my cables feed in to the side of the 3.5" bays makes for a neater install so I'm happy enough for now.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

It won't make much difference, there's enough clearance that airflow isn't being majorly restricted.
