I have enjoyed the expo so far, but a) not sure if there will be enough content to last til the next expansion and b) not really sure if I agree with the £20 price tag.

I mean, with the price, compared to other services / entertainment IRL, it is very cheap, but in terms of compared to what you can get with that money from other games / Steam, it's not great value.

Still, can't blame them really for attempting to push prices up with the cost of everything else going through the roof in the last decade, while prices of video games basically didn't move at all (I remember paying £50 a pop for N64 titles O.o)

Just got a vanguard commendation... Thought i was going to get some legendary gear for it....

So now to buy legendary gear you have to get vanguard commendations aswell as 150 marks?

Are Bungee wanting people to quit the game?

yo, vanguard / faction vendors have always required marks for gear, so not sure why the QQ. it was never announced that 1 commendation = 1 free piece of gear..

Just been reading the bungie forums, lol there sure are some opinions flying around over there :p

But it's a bit galling seeing the expansion sell for $15 in the US, under half the price of it for us in the UK, must cost a great deal to ship all that data over the Atlantic and add import duties and VAT to it :/

Isn't the DLC(disc locked content) 100kb as it's already on the disc?

Still can't figure out where they all are :p

They are a bit cryptic but the message they give also hints to where you find them "Where you first met the hive" etc.

Basically one is in the skywatch (the one you found). The next is further on where you first raised the array (pick up urn and kill yellow bar acolytes. The last one is back towards the Sepkis prime strike - right next to the fuel sample analysis mission. In all cases you kill the main target (s) and presto quest / bounty done.

Decided to come back and see if the DLC improves things at all.
Managed to purchase the new vanguard legs which bumped me from light 26 to 27 but other then that I haven't managed to find a single upgrade since the DLC launched which is quite disappointing when all i see everywhere is people complaining that they have already deleted all their old gear.

U gotta earn it son!
A lot of ppl here who have replaced all their previous gear a) maxed out vanguard marks, b) got 3 chars with vanguard rep just before the next level, c) exotic bounties to hand in, d) tonnes of bounties to hand in to quickly level up new gear and e) attempted the raid already..!

If you complete the 3 DLC missions, you get an OP fusion rifle for free as well!!1!

We aren't relying on RNG engram drops to gear up : It's all carefully calculated!

It's all carefully calculated!

Carefully calculated chaos... :D

Levelling up new VG gear (33 light - just need shards, so many shards) and new weapons has been fun. Got my Three Little Words legendary pulse rifle about half way upgraded now. Should be at 331 attack soon enough. Its impact is high enough (~40ish) to make it actually usable. It also overpenetrates knights shields making it very useful in the new missions/raid.

For anyone wanting an easy cheese for the dlc nightfall strike, Get 2-3 people to run straight through the final room to the far side and jump up onto the ledge/room thats at the back. There's an enemy spawn point but no enemies spawned through it but it's a secluded little room that will keep you safe.

The tactic is to have one person sit in the highest corner completely safe and have 1-2 standing at the edge of the door. The people at the door shoot continuously without fear of dying. Person at the top who is safe just revives the other 2 when they get down (with a level 30 you were down roughly every 10-15 seconds of shooting) as they can stay in the safe spot and revive them without needing to move.

Tl:dr

Get to back room, camp-revive and shoot the ****er till she's dead.

It does seem like an absurdly overpriced DLC. If I like the game, I'll usually buy the DLC regardless of price (within reason), but I found that once I'd got to level 30 in the main game there was nothing else to do and it was boring anyway, so I'll probably feel the same way once I get to 32 with this expansion.

Honestly I don't care about what passes for the 'story' in this game, nor the Crucible maps, so I'd only be buying it for the Raids, which if they're anything like the VoG they would admittedly be amazing, at least the first few times. But that's just not worth £35 to me, so I think I'll give this a miss.

Edit: ... and how they didn't see fit to put a matchmaking system in this game for raids or at least nightfalls, is beyond me. I absolutely love spending sometimes 30 minutes plus trying to get a raid team together using r/fireteams or this forum :/

Played yesterday morning and got to Crota on the Raid before one of our members had to leave, managed to bag the raid legs though!

X2 Nightfall strikes done, 1 pulse rifle & a rocket launcher both scrapped. Hopefully Xur will allow me to upgrade a few exotics Friday.

Has anybody had issues with the destiny servers since the update? I've been disconnected from them roughly 20 times tonight.

I would love to see a matchmaking fireteam attempt the bridge phase in Crota's End. Not in a million years would it work!

It makes sense to exclude matchmaking, it would cause no end of problems.
