Wow that trailer was very well done, certainly didn't look cheap. Pace of the actual game looked multiplied by 2c though.

Has anyone been playing with the new Omega driver from amd? Im wondering if there's a performance boost? My 7950 is maxing out at 65% usage on 14.9

Ok so just did the first sets of tutorials, with full 3 monitor setup and trackIR...

Man alive.. the atmosphere this game oozes... especially with lights off... just epically immense.

I don't now much about it what's the requirement does it all come as one kit ?

Standard comes with below:

Black TrackClip (reflective tracking clip) for use with a baseball cap.

For some extra pennies you can have a Track Clip Pro.

The difference is with the Track clip pro my experience is a little crisper and for me more responsive.

I have never been able to tell the difference between the clips, other than the standard one doesn't break the moment you look at it harshly.

WTFlip - I have a hold full of Eranian Pearl Whiskey, 128LY away from Eranin and it's worth less than I paid for it !

I've tried 4 or 5 stations away from Lave and all offering less than I paid.

I'm guessing Gamma2 made rare trading uneconomic. In which case why have them ??

That's probably the economy sorting itself out, people have been abusing the Lave rares for several days, most likely still somewhere you can flog it though.

Trackclip (baseball cap/stick it on top of your headset) requires no cables, I prefer it as I find the trackclippro is no more responsive however I've got it in a room where there's no interference caused by light sources or reflective surfaces behind me - which is why some people usually prefer the trackclippro.

I just had having an additional cable hanging off me for no reason lol

I sit about 10 foot from my plasma when playing this. Would trackir work for me?

you can run the trackir sensor bit closer to you, but ideally you would want it about head height, usually it sits on top of the monitor. Ten feet away might have a bit of issue picking up your movement. Even with high sensitivity it would be difficult to control, because any exaggerated movement would mean massive moves on screen.

This is the first time I've looked into this thread so apologies for some questions that someone may be kind enough to answer. I've had a little look online for more information but there's a lot of it about....

The original was a product of the hardware on which it was run. There was lots of emptiness in the game which was fine at the time given how much more advanced it was than pretty much everything other than a Mike Singleton game. How does this new game fill the emptiness? Space games need you to feel small and alone at times but is there always something to see and do? A unique sight that you come across unexpectedly?

Assuming it's totally open ended, what does it do to keep you playing once you've got the best weapons and the best ship? Do you have to go multiplayer to get your kicks at that stage?

Can you fly into the atmosphere of planets? Ever since the first Elite I'm sure most people have dreamed of a totally complete universe that can randomly generate unique planets with unique features such that you really do feel you're infinitely far from home. A modern PC should be able to cope with it. Is Elite Dangerous such a game?
