Just messing around so I ran these for a laugh.

I was a bit CPU bottlenecked with 4 cards @1600p and the benchmark won't allow higher resolutions.

In the actual game using the same settings @2160p I was getting around 100fps average.

Please don't take this thread too seriously as it was done for fun.

Some very impressive rates there Kapp - I think you can safely add your "Yes, I can play Crysis" sticker to your case now.

Crysis was always the game I used to test any GPU upgrade. I remember the excitement of being able to switch from "Medium" to "High" after upgrading a card (no idea which - maybe 2900PRO to 3870), then being able to add AA next time I upgraded (maybe 4870? Could have been 5870).

Then I changed from one 1080p monitor to three, and had to drop the settings back down to get playable rates! :)

I do remember going from 2 x 5870 1GB cards to a single 7970 3GB and trying the Crysis GPU bench before and after. With the 1GB cards at top settings, including 8xAA, at 5760x1080, I was getting about 1 frame every 10 seconds - hilarious! With the 7970 it actually ran and was hitting fairly decent rates, I was a very happy boy that day.

Must dig out Crysis and see how it plays now, been ages since I killed an "Elite" soldier by simply walking him into some water and watching him instantly drown. :D

You can force higher resolution with commands Kapp in the box that says 'custom cvars', I get just over 100fps with 2x 970's and I'm still CPU bound with just 2 cards at 1440p.

r_width = *****
r_height = *****

Replace the ** with your resolution of choice.

Just ran it @4K with the same settings and got 83 fps overall

The new custom resolution does not appear in the top box but it is definitely running 4K on screen.

I remember firing this up on a 4.2ghz i7 920 and sli gtx 275's, cant remember the fps but they weren't high. Love to get a hold of a copy again and see how it fares on the spec in sig.

Does this still look any good by todays standards? Haven't fired it up in years, would be interesting to see how it looks at 4K.

With my new Drivers and upscaling, i'm thinking the same thing, i'm going round trying out different resolution on all my games, even games i haven't run for years :o

Nice :)

Playing Crysis 3 again now that I have 2x 970 and it's holding a good framerate with everything maxed at 1600p. What a great looking game!

the best single gpu still cant max out crysis 1 and maintain 60fps :D

It can but the problem with Crysis is that it's been very much a CPU bound game for a very long time.

You need a 5Ghz+ 4970k to get a frame rate that never dips below 60fps regardless of what's happening on screen.

Even my 3770k at 5Ghz still can't hold a min frame rate of 60fps on the benchmark.
