Another update in a few mins, something must have slipped the net... They aren't a 9-5 crew that's for sure.

It has fixed the crash to desktop on the loading screen that hundreds were reporting on the forums. I couldn't get beyond the initial splash myself in 2.0...

Down for me to...I was timing myself how much I could make in an hour on a sweet little trade route I've found and in that time I've lost connection 3 times due to updates and had a CTD, now I can't start the game....Always seems to happen when I've got a few hours of free time to play lol :(

I've been in and out like a fiddlers elbow in the past hour :D

Can't connect at the moment and even when connected it's been slow to drop out of hyperspace, commodities market and bulletin board etc.

Hope they fix this before the weekend :D

Was working perfectly for me before, but since the 2.02 update I get the same stuck ship loading screen

Tried playing around with upnp, ports etc... nothing seems to work

Forums, and sticking to the area around the original systems available in the beta by the sounds of it. Dead exciting stuff that's for sure :p

Ok so folks. Complete Elite newb.

Open play and solo play. Presumably Solo play was supposed to be the single player?

I just jumped into open play. Cant see other players flying around tbh, and also if you exit game whilst in space, that's a nono I take it? You should dock, enter hanger etc?

Solo is against AI/NPC's only but does require a minimal internet connection and progress in Solo mode transfers over to Open mode.

Exiting in space is fine as you disappear and aren't just floating around, but it's usually better to dock somewhere.

I would to get you started, get used to the sidewinder first and maybe move to a hauler for some profit making. From there you can rebuy an eagle and pimp it out or move up to viper/cobra. Viper was a nice all rounder in my opinion while the jump range was a bit small it had a lot of firepower.

I'd at least give a big of dogfighting in the Eagle a go first to see if you like it. I have far more fun making money from getting the bounties from wanted ships at nav points (found near stars) and unknown signal sources than I did from trading. It's slower, but I'm playing the game for fun not to play space trucker. If you don't like it then sure, sell it, you can always just buy another.

How do you select the different craft which you were awarded as a backer of this on Kickstarter? I remember logging in and it asked me to select a ship, I just selected the one which gave me the most creds.

Also...concerning Solo, your saying that this is still "connected to the internet" but no real players? I.e. you vs AI etc? And how is the progress transfered over to the open world? Isnt that a bit of cheating cause solo could theoretically be easier?

Also events etc in the open world are different than solo mode?

Took the plunge on this last night, shame I can't get into the Gamma, so just pottering about in the combat sim thingy.
Looking forward to next week!

Solo mode is still in the same online universe, its just that you cant see other players, and they cant see you, so the economy, events etc are the same.

I use Solo mode, just to avoid any griefing, which can really spoil the experience.

I must prefer fighting, or even mining to trading tbh, more involving but trading is far, far more profitable especially if you can get on the rares bandwagon. Never done it myself.

Not that I can play, stuck at spinning ship since the latest patch
