I think it's just the pump fluid flowing through or pump bearings cycling through but I've noticed the H80 making a strange noise, not loud but fairly ambient and quiet (my whole system is whisper quiet so I hear everything).

Is this to be expected perhaps as the pump ages or is this a sign that I need to start thinking about replacing it?

Edit*
I've noticed no increase in temps, everything otherwise appears perfectly normal!

Sounds like the refill-screw on the pump (Cpu block) might be loose and bleeding out some air, which is then somehow getting replenished and it happens again..?

Just a guess, very strange :P

Ah, where is the bleed screw? Don't think the manual mentioned it either :o

It's not mentioned, But I was thinking your H80 might have one as my H100i has it. Maybe there's a screw on the radiator then? Or how did they fill the loop in the first place :D

How is the RAD mounted ? are the hoses at the top or the bottom ?

Hmm can't see any screws :|

It doesn't really sound abnormal I guess in the standard sense but just something I started noticing more lately as I'd not heard it before - In that essence you'd think it was abnormal though but it's very hard to put into words and describe :o

The Rad is mounted vertically at the back in push pull config, pipes at the bottom.

I've been meaning to upgrade to a H100 class one so I can have the double 120mm radiator to span the top vents of the 650D leaving the rear for 120mm exhaust only.

Maybe this is an excuse to upgrade :S

Wow that looks amazing. Will it fit my650D at the top though or will it overlap the SATA hotswap bay housing trim like the H105 does?

Update!

I've been listening even closer inside the case now, close enough for my hair to get nipped by the fans and it turns out it's not the H80 pump but my 290X Tri-X GFX card... It's the middle fan, if I gently hold it during the noise the noise goes away so definitely bearing noise.

It is a month ish old from OcUK and I can't be dealing with not having a PC if I send it back for a swap. Can OcUK send out a replacement and I simply swap and send back this one I wonder...

Which CPU do you have? You probably have a built-in GPU on yours, enough to run your screen while it's RMA'd.

I'd hold off from that Raijintek unit till they confirm the aluminum rad with the nickel/copper block. That's SO not worth the better aesthetics. Also found out the pump is a cheap Alphacool unit so they clearly went for aesthetics at the expense of other things.

I figured that might be the case once I saw the price!

3770K but my Mobo doesn't have any display output (MSI P67A G45 B3). I've asked if they will do a door to door swap in CS forum though so let's see :)

I had this issue and for some reason when I changed my psu to a "be quiet 730w" the noise went away completely. So for some apparent reason my 650w psu was causing the H80 to make the noise.

Thats exactly the sound my boiler pump makes when it sucks a air bubble up though the house radiator loop (useless info I know, but have you tried bleeding it?)

(I joke because I know you cant..............Ive a H100i in my rig & ive regretted it since day 1 of putting it all together.............the link software just tops off what is a Uber F*$%&%g turd of a bit of hardware)
