*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Got up to level 31 on both my Warlocks last night (well technically one but they share armour). Was a hell of a grind but luckily I had 20 "easy" bounties across both Warlocks to ease the pain.

Also upgraded my Suros (now at 313 attack IIRC), Icebreaker and the Last Word. Bought a few exotic shards so I am ready for when they need them. I also broke my current Truth and bought the new one. My Three Little Words pulse rifle is at 331 attack and is beastly against knights. It just shoots straight through their shields so they don't stand a chance!

The best bit though is the fact my hunter just needs a chest piece to get to level 31 (once I have enough ascendant shards..). A commendation from my Warlock (which can be shared) will speed that up nicely - The commendation my other Warlock will get shortly will be used for a weapon next week... :D. My motes decoded into The Third Man & that Obsidian Warlock helmet (the one that is all black) thus I didn't have to spend any coins on armour :D.

I am really chuffed now as my hunter was an also rand before and now she is a beast.

Meths / Davey - Sorry I didn't join your Nightfall last night. By the time I had faffed around and got my Warlock up and running you had three people (well two in the fireteam and three in the party) thus I didn't want to intrude.

I need to do the Nightfall at some point (got half way through solo and died to a ******* stealth vandal that followed me without me realising (turned around and insta death)). If I am not already in a fireteam feel free to drop me an invite. :)

On a side note last nights Daily heroic was a pain in the rear. I got to the final boss area and kept dying to a single hit from the melee knights (at level 30). It was only after 4 deaths did I realise Lightswitch was on and my normal tactic of kill Wizards first won't work. If you kill the knights first only thralls spawn until the Wizards are dead. The thralls hurt but you can survive one hit before needing to re-gen.

Did it in the end and felt like I had accomplished something! :)

No bother Owen. It was a bit if a mess getting a fireteam together on my part anyway as I sent out about six invites thinking that I'd get maybe one or two replies and nearly everyone jumped in.

Man lack of glimmer is killing any chance I have to be 31 across my characters - just don't want to do exclusion zone for like forever :p

Xur was nice for me - bought all the new exotics as really they were saving me 7 strange coins straight away anyway. Then just bought the Armamentarium, Suros, Icebreaker and a few engrams. Trying to be careful with Strange coins as no doubt for the next month Xur will have more stuff I want

No one fancy tackling Urdok tonight? Won't be back til 11 but have to tackle him 3 times - tried him once a few days ago and it did not go well!

ps3ud0

Takes half hour on exclusion zone to make 20k
No doubt but its that cost to your soul when you realise you've swapped one type of farming to another that pains me :p

Destiny overload was fine when trying to aim for 30 - I just can't do that all over again for each level cap while new games I really want to play turn up :p

Destiny shan't be my FIFA this year!
he only had a rocket launcher to buy for me... Do ps4 get different items?
Don't think we do beyond the few Exotic exclusives (4 weapons I think).

Started playing this tonight (xbox one) but keep getting disconnected messages...
My internet is fine at the time its going off, but wonder why it keeps doing this?

Man, Nightfall is brutal. Can't even get through the first room with fatebringer and plan c.

Solo? With a fireteam it wasn't too bad. We wiped pretty quickly the first time after the Shanks sneaked up on us. After that, it wasn't too bad. For the final room, we hid in the little room in the back with two of us dealing the damage and dying every few seconds and one reviving us. It didn't take too long to finish in the end.

Had the crucible bounty for bad juju taking up space so completed it today. Managed to fully level up legendary new gauntets and leg armour whilst doing it so finally a level 31!

Didnt see it making much difference in the normal dark below strikes though i still died just as quick lol.

Got the super good advice bounty done today too so two more new exotics to add the the collection.

Started levelling up suros and icebreaker, got some way to go yet before i'm ready for a shot at new raid again :(

Do the start of the mission, put out your ghost and the door open and dinklebot says something about that being the fail safe, pop a resupply code and kill everything except the shielded one, called ship commander or something like that. Once you the shielded one is only one left let him kill you amd you will restart just as the doors are opening. Once you have it down you can get 4 or 5 runs per resupply code. You are likely also to pick up resupply codes as you do it so even though I use them I always finish with more than i started with. Added bonus you will pick up some network keys too which are worth 200 glimmer :)

Pretty much this but I find it easier to leave a Phalanx alive rather than the guy firing rockets!

Also, I can't say I've ever made 20k in half an hour using this method. It's more like 12k. Still not bad as, with a one hour grind, you'll max out on glimmer even if starting from zero.

It is pretty brutal as it starts you right off into the Darkness zone. There is also no rest bite until you exit into the Skywatch.

I died solo in the second area to a stealth vandal that followed me all the way back to the start!

Our fireteam did it last night (me level 31 and they both level 29). We took it really slow with one of us was hanging back to revive. On this NF you WILL die due to the Arc burn, expecially at the final boss (note: a level 31 will still be one hit by any of the melee enemies.). We also played strategies with the supers so I always had my self revive available. This came in very handy more than once...

At the final boss we hung around in the entrance corridor and again took our time. Splash damage is a bugger but this strategy allowed more hits before one or two people went down. None of us have an Arc primary which probably didn't help matters much.

We did it though and I got a new version of the Arc Culling.

This weekend was also my weekend for Legendary engrams. I got three (!) yesterday alone... :D

One turned into chest armour for my hunter thus she is just a grind away from level 31. This means I don't have to spend a commendation on her (now have two) and as such I can buy two new weapons after the reset.

One turned into some FWC solar shotgun (hoping for a sniper...) whilst the other turned into the Supremacy (I think that is what it is called) crucible scout rifle with firefly perk. Not gong to complain at that!

Overall a great weekend! :)

Only got this a few days ago, and loving the game so far!

Im level 17 hunter and want to level up my subclass. Im finding it hard to level up, took me a while to figure out. Do I just grind lower level mission's?

Re-doing lower level missions only gives you the xp for enemies you kill (not a lot all things considered). What you want to do is run every bounty you can and mix it up with patrol missions (specifically VIP ones for the 25 rep) and killing everything that moves.

Your current equipped weapons and armour are the ones that gain the XP so if your current gun/armour is maxed out switch to one that still needs upgrading before handing in any bounties / completing a mission. This goes for when you are level 20+ as well.

Also if you see a public event and it is your first one of the day make sure to get involved. The first one of the day will net you a reward from the post master and more importantly <level 20; 5K XP!
