DX12 CPU Performance Leaked, Way Faster Than DX11 – Threading Model Resembles AMD’s Mantle

Still rember huddy saying November/December for freesync. Now its December/January. Freesync only needs a firmware update etc. Would take anything huddy says with a pinch of rock salt.

You making it out like it said it in stone.. He never, he said they aim to release at the time frame and that some monitors can be updated. The monitor they used believed to be Dell can be firmware updated and that's available to buy now.

But unlike with maybe lying about performance to gain sales of there chip. not that am saying what you said is true because I have no idea..

But huddy saying they tuck the api to Microsoft and how long it's been in the making doesn't exactly gain amd anything.. It's a pointless lie so why lie?

It would be better not even saying any of it. So therefore I don't think it's a lie at all.

People make pointless lies all the time.

And the CPU thing is 100% real lol.

Which model? If things aren't set in stone then he shouldn't talk like they are.

Huddy rejoined AMD in May/June 2014, so most of what he is talking about happened when he wasn't even working for AMD... that makes it basically impossible for him to have an accurate view on what actually happened

just look at the number of retractions AMD have had to print after he's flapped his jaw at some event or other... it's not saying he's lying to gain anything, he has just proven himself time again to not know when to shut up about stuff he has no direct involvement in

Given that the latest inclusion of DX11 was AMD's work with MS i doubt the latter of that ^^^ is true.

I don't think he did, i think he suggested it was a possibility, But if you have any facts that say otherwise cite it, or stop spouting nonsense.

What's more likely is AMD/Nvidia worked with MS for DX12 specification.

Then AMD went off on their own and made Mantle.

Yeah... although, AMD were probably heavily involved in making the Xbox One API which is closer to the metal than vanilla DX11 (and must have started development ~5 years ago)... it seems pretty obvious that AMD thought "hey, this is a good idea, we could do this on PC too"... tried to force it on MS and to announce it way too early and when MS said "no, DX 12 for 2014/15" they threw a tantrum and then decided to try to go it alone with a rush job mantle

I've read this a few times, but I don't understand how that'd make what I said not true (Even though I, like every single person is speculating)

DX11.2 was introduced on October 17 2013 along with Windows 8.1, Mantle was introduced in January 2014, 3 Months later.

Drop DX in October 2013, start work on Mantle and have it released 3 Months later, amazing :D

I don't care if DX12 is Mantle (which it isn't by all accounts) but you are the biggest perpetrator of arguments in this thread.

Just to add my tuppence as well, we also had AMD publicly stating that Microsoft would be dropping DX... Yer no.

And what if he was right and there was no DirectX 12 in development at that time? Only 11.3 might have existed at the time. For all we know DirectX 12 is nothing more than a low level version of 11.3.
