As usual the papers have been full of apocalyptic predictions of terrible Winter weather locked in for weeks (like they always do) and it probably won't come to pass. Winters like 10-11 11-12 are really rare.

Damp and cold probably.

The exaggeration of weather conditions by the media etc (particularly winter) is a yearly event and are difficult to take seriously, the BBC goes into full blown panic mode any time a snow flake looks likely to fall anywhere.

Every year the same predictions, but 9 times out of 10 it's just somewhat cold, and most places get some significant snow at some point, nut nothing like as bad as forecast.

The media knows we're obsessed with weather in this country and they play on that, the press definitely sensationalises winter weather, the BBC is juts terrified of being caught out like they were with the famous massive storm that hit the south in 1987.
