Galax cards waterblocks warranty

Which one?

Someone on the forums (ubersonic i think) posted a pic showing that the current full blocks wouldn't fit due to the chokes being poor aligned on the Galax board. This was the cheaper blower style model.

Am i going to need to ask about this in the customer service forum? As i have noticed a few people have asked the same question in other threads and they never got an answer either.

I think that's the only way you are going to get a definate answer. If you could then post the answer back here to let others know that would be good.

The Thermosphere blocks are excellent. Don't forget the vrm's though.

here are some of the replies to my question in the cs forum

ocuk response to question:

Some coolers are easy to remove though others are harder to remove, you shouldn't have a problem if you remove and then re-attach the cooler exactly the way you received the card.

I don't actually believe there are any GTX 970 blocks available for GALAX cards though I know EK are manufacturing blocks for the MSI gaming edition card.

which i responded with:

I can understand the being careful part but was after their official standpoint on this as i know there is at least one manufacturer that allows it as long as it is returned with the standard cooler fitted but if the galax has a warranty sticker it would be damaged when removing the cooler and i could be left with a knackered card and no warranty.

I already have 2 thermosphere universal coolers here ready to fit to something.

and the reply was:

That's fair enough.

It's unlikely that these cards have warranty void stickers though I can't guarantee it, I can't check the cards either unfortunately.

So i can only assume this is a NO but nobody wants to say it......

I have been asked this question about 16 times today :p

Yes you can remove the cooler. It is only 4 screws and it is a breeze to do.

if you are unsure, get the tech labs version.

if not, go wild. there are no warranty stickers in place.

i will add it to the official list.

Thanks for that

I have no issue with removing the cooler other than the warranty question

Stu

If there's no warranty stickers over the screws then go for it, providing you don't cause any visual damage to the card then they'll never know.

I think that's what RJK is saying too.
