As title - has anyone on here bought one of the 31" true 4K monitors?
If so how did you find it for resolution of text etc. I am hoping this size is more readable than 28" 4K screens. Any other comments - have been unable to find any reviews. Any info appreciated on your experiences etc.

Yeah, I got one. I run Windows 7 with 150% scaling and I don't have any problems. Sometimes apps and dialogs don't honour the Windows scaling and look too small but I sit close enough to the screen that I can still see the text.

Anything I can check or test to help you out?

Any help?
Don't know anything about it myself sorry :-/

No problems reading text on my 28" 4K monitor. :p:D

Many thanks for your input guys - spuddles may get back to you if I have a query or two after setup.

Cheers guys - merry xmas to all.

Our graphics design guy ask one, I shall ask if he can add some comments here for you! :)

We've sold over 100 now, just clearly not guys on the forums buying them.

Thanks Gibbo, any extra info would be great. Just set it up, and using now, and all I can say is WOW.Will have to see how I fare with gaming on it - may be a struggle with just 1 980GTX (don't say it Lol). Wallet is looking a bit sorry for itself.

I'd also be interested to know if this LG monitor is any good for gaming. Also wondered how it is for eye strain as I spend long hours at work staring at the screen. The Acer S277HK is interesting me due to this bit of blurb: "EyeProtect technology incorporates several features that take into consideration prolonged usage by heavy users such as programmers, writers, and graphic designers to reduce eye strain and provides a more comfortable viewing experience."

Does the LG have anything similar to the Acer 'Eyeprotect' technology?

Cheers,
Mossy

It is early days yet for me with the LG, but I don't think it has the function that the Acer has regarding eye strain - best to look at the specs on the UK LG site for more info. As for gaming - think I am going to need more graphics horsepower ie sli to game at top res. So far though the LG is stonkingly good imho - waa afraid that with my not so good eyesight these days I would struggle reading text etc, but that was soon fixed by increasing to 150%. Seems my monitor was well tweaked at the factory as far as colours etc go, but may need to turn down the brightness just a tad from its current 60%.

As I say early days yet, but very happy so far :D

These are calibrated at factory level as professional grade monitor so should have a certificate or calibration report in the box?

Just in case anybody is not sure - they do indeed have a calibration sheet included - mine seems spot on. I have not needed to change anything.

As an update from me, I worked from home for the last 2 days and used my monitor for about 20 hours and didn't notice any problems with my eyes. I did have to reduce the brightness when I first got the monitor but since then I have not done anything different to it.

Also made use of the inbuilt speakers for Skype calls and Xmas tunes and they handled it fine ;)

I just took delivery of this screen. Factory callibration sheet included. Uniformity is better than just about any monitor review I remember reading, 10 sections at 100%, 3 at 99, 1 at 101, 1 at 98. DeltaE below 1.5 or less, depending on input colour.

Still need to install the software, tools and colour profiles...

So far I'm massively impressed with everything but the integrated speakers... They'll do, but not sure they even beat the zenbook.

just keep them buyers away from GD otherwise they will wonder what the hell is going on here :D

Your comments are encouraging guys, but I have a little worry about mine - on white screens I have slightly muddiness on lh side of screen plus a small band across the middle of the screen - not sure if I am over worrying, but for the price??? Overall though very nice otherwise.

What do you think?

Just looked at my calibration sheet and white calibration is shown as greater or equal to 95%.

Think I am going to have to send mine back - red tinge down lh side as well as red tinge to upper left corner, and lh side white screen is muddy - seems backlight is not even enough on this example.
Whilst all this is not realy, really bad - for the price of the item, and high end I would have expected better. Frankly my dell2711 does not have these issues but is half the price??????

@tipes: Mine definately has none of that. My eyes are trying to play tricks on me when I put uniform primary colours/grays on full screen, but moving around I'm pretty confident everything is actually equal.

Considering LG are targeting medical usage with the panel, it sounds like yours may have slipped through QC. Maybe post a photo of it?

Thanks - thought of trying to post a photo, but not sure if the camera will pick it up or show it - think it is one of those occasions where you have to be in front of the monitor yourself to see the problem. Will try a photo shortly and see.

Ps here is an image - not sure if it is going to help - see what you think. I have not got a tripod, so hand held.http://

There is also a darker band that runs across the screen about not quite one third from the top - think you can see it.

Having a few further issues/concerns - I was using the screen this morning and there was a popping sound and part of the middle of the display went blank for a second. Also the monitor has blanked out on a few occasions either at desktop or browsing the net. Seems something is amiss somewhere.
