Sold gamecode via ebay - buyer reversed payment - advise please

Well some good news - called paypal up and as a good will gesture they are crediting my account for this. The woman I spoke to was actually quite understanding although it sounds like they are still recredit-ing this individual since he is pulling a fast one (as spoke about above).

Make a long story short - dont sell codes on ebay you will get screwed unless you physical send it in the mail and have them sign for it.

A absolutely HATE the eBay / PayPal duo.

I use PayPal for sending cash abroad, and eBay for small items which I can't find anywhere else.

That's it.

I won't even use Paypal for sending cash. And I've sent quite a bit to my brother in Aus. I'd rather just deal with bank transfers, fees and exchange rates.

I haven't used Paypal or Ebay in many years because of how much I hate them and I've only been stuck a couple of times. KIA off these forums helped me out when I needed a part for a Mac Mini I could only source on Ebay. I BT'd him what it cost and a couple of quid for thanks for doing me the favour, he ordered it and posted it to me. I'd rather do that than use Ebay or Paypal I hate them so much.

And it also shows how good the community is when it comes to trading, that he'd hook me up like that. Why use Ebay or Paypal when you can use the members market and BT.

When I sell on eBay it is strictly cash on collection only, I don't trust PayPal as a seller.

As a buyer, I use PayPal wherever I can. Especially with online stores, as I don't need to send card details to any other sites, and I know that if anything happens with the order or the seller it's easy for me to get the money back.

1. Find out buyers home address
2. Eat a chicken vindaloo and wash it down with 5 to 6 pints of Guinness, eat several scotch bonnets for desert
3. Travel to buyers home address
4. Take a fragrant dump, infused with vindaloo and Guinness through buyers letter box
5. Shout smell that and know what you are.
6. Go back to your house
7. Use camomile lotion or similar to soothe burning sensation in ring piece
8. Report back to OCUK forums on success of your dump and run sortie

Just to look at this from EBAY/Paypal's side for a moment.

If you sent an already used code how would the buyer prove they hadn't used it themselves?

Might need to rearrange some of those. Like the drive back home in 6 might be a little unpleasant before 7.

OP you need to follow ebay/paypal rules..

Put code in one these tubes

Write name & address on tube

Name = Bah Bah Bah
Address = BAh Bah Bah Bah
Address = Bah ASS BAh
Post Code = Bah BAH

then take Tube around to the buyer house and shove tube up his ass and then take Photo's to post to paypal to prove delivery..

There's little you can do in this circumstance as mentioned by others. I was in the exact same situation earlier in the year when I sent over an image of the code via ebay messages. Buyer claimed it was already used but given I scratched off the protective thing myself it was unlikely. Just had to take it on the chin and carry on. I had 20 codes in total at £20 and only one transaction turned out bad.

PayPal have been very good for me recently on 2 occasion so cant fault them. One for a CPU I sold to someone in Bulgaria who filed a credit card chargeback for a transaction 3 months ago. I store my receipts so scanned a copy of receipt online showing it had been delivered and PayPal covered the loss. If you follow the rules, your pretty much covered.
