Also anyone else noticed the spawn rate for rares is nor even lower ?

On Leesti collecting evil juice and milk and they used to spawn 4 or 5 of each every 15 minutes. Now it's 4 or 5 units per hour !

Just had my first PVP, well, I was sat reading the Pilots Guide and someone was attacking me, but as I have nothing to lose I just sat there and carried on reading.
He didn't say anything though, just destroyed me and this is one of the reasons why I think I'll prefer solo play overall when I get more into it.

Is there only a "black market" available at some stations/landing ports?
If so - is there any way of telling where by looking at the system map?
I've got a cargo hold full of weapons illegal in a couple of systems I'm in. I don't want to go to a space station rather use a platform as there is far less chance of a scan.
However the two platforms I've landed don't seem to have a "Black Market" option.

Does that blue marker work for you then ttaskmaster? The only ship I have had that work was a Lakon 6 back in beta? It has not worked for me since :(
Yup. That's how I found where my Freagle was!

I've abandoned it. I've not got time for pot luck. If anyone has any stable solutions to finding targets without just hoping to stumble upon them at some point.
If it's a specifically named target or commodity, then sometimes at a USS in the system they give you will find an NPC who may either tell you where to find what you're looking for (he's a wanted criminal, so he's not stupid enough to conveniently stay in one place in case you come along) or perhaps even pay you more money to abandon your mission. You lose faction rep, but gain more money!

Sup, in terms of locations... What drive is there to move from one group of stars? I see no reason to really branch out and explore...
The thousands of credits you'll get for discovering new systems?
Rare commodities fetching more money if you take them further afield?
The search for more awesome weapons and components that aren't sold anywhere nearby?
The transition to a different government and different commodities (such as slaves)?

Why after a bit do all the police start coming after me. I have not hit any of them, have no bounty on my head and am not wanted ?
They are not the Police. They are the local System Authority, so more like a militia. Technically, this service can be provided by any faction and usually the dominant one in that system.
This means that they belong to a specific faction and while they themselves are not wanted... their mates, who you just happen to be gunning down, could well be.

So they're merely coming to kick your teeth in, because you just popped in, blew up their buddies and merrily toddled off to go make money from your random murder-spree... as far as they see it, anyways!! :)
You can check which faction each ship belongs to under Contacts, left UI panel. If the nearby SA vessels are on the same team, be mindful of your actions.

How is everyone progressing? Im having loads of fun at the moment aimlessly flying about in my CobraMkIII.

So far im:

Combat - Novice 101 bounties -> 600k credits
Trade - Broker 100 network -> 55mill credits
Explorer - Surveyor 624 systems -> 700k credits

I'm actually considering getting the throttle I've been toying with for ages, I'm having little enjoyment using the keyboard.

OK, now totally stuck with a full cargo hold of illegal weapons. What governs if there is going to be a "black market" at a system/station??

Not sure about black market conditions to be honest. Stations in anarchy systems generally have them. Being scanned isn't a problem as long as you get through the letter box in time, eg before it completes.

Anyone visited the Hutton Orbital Dock in Alpha Centauri? It takes some commitment to bother getting there 0.22ly = 6,626,954.45ls... :o

I've been waiting for this game since Elite: Frontiers. Sod's law my PC is packed up as we've dressed the house for selling.

I wonder if they've added the Eagle MKIII cargo hold cheat

I did notice Proxima was 0.22LY away. I think the supercruise on my sidewinder maxes out at just shy of 50c. So about 39 hours to get there. I assume other ships have faster supercruise, otherwise nobody is going to do that except for crazy people.

Found some cannisters of military plans floating around, picked them up then got stung for having illegal goods and got given a 20k fine, the damn things only sold for 10k on the black market, oh well :(

It's the latest update.. To stop camping. Mass hisses on fd forums yet it's still plenty profitable. Rather than camp (sit idle, not playing game) and trade a single rare, one needs to visit multiple rare stocking stations to fill up cargo hold then fly away to make equal earning per load. It takes a lot more work but profit is still there for anyone making the effort.

GREAT!!!! So, I'm out looking for pirates, someone attacks me, fine, let him, he occurs a bounty. This guy (real player) won't give up, turn around and pretty much wipe him out down to 25% without a seconds though. I stop and go to type into chat that he needs to back off... Then suddenly loads of people start attacking me (federation security and a couple of player)....

Why am I in the wrong, now with a blown up ship and not enough money to get it back??????

This game is broken, waste of £35, I've tried for 3 days to get on with it, it's lack of content, repetitive play and just broken systems.

What a shame....
