I've just built new pc, have my earbuds in and whenever i type/move mouse i get horrible static noise through the headphones, i've tried EVERYTHING i can to stop it ie. diffrent headphones diffrent mice, plugging into diffrent aux/usb's i tried googling it and the only solution i can find is a dodgy connection on the new mobo? any suggestions (pc is 3 days old and bought from oc)

edit: ordered a sound card from amazon for cheap if that doesn't fix it im gunna throw the lot out the window

Tried front and rear audio ports? (thats if you have case with them and its connected up?)

for some reason the front port doesnt work lol, guess thats why you dont pay £30 for a case, the mother board should have decent on board sound though....
Gigabyte Z97X-SLI Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

Make sure you have no cables tangled up and keep them separated.

Is the case audio cable plugged into the board?

ok so i installed sound card, cant figure out how to get sound through the card and not the motherboard, i've installe the drivers, but when i put headphones into the card no sound at all and when i plug into the normal aux on the mobo theres sound, and ****** static background still

In the BIOS it will tell you whcih version it current is, such as F6/F8 etc.

Disable the onboard sound in the BIOS to use the sound card.

i had a look on bios, its the strangest looking bios i've seen i cant find the onboard audio on it to disable it

can you test by unplugging the case's front panel usb headers from the motherboard? this usually stops the noise/emi leakage into the front panel headphone port

its the usb ports your hearing crackle

doubt a soundcard would cure it either tbh, didnt for me but that was on older x58 board
