Evening all,

Have been through a few keyboards lately and i'm struggling to find one i REALLY like :)
Have had a few Logitech ones (G15, G19) and more recently i've tried the Saitek cyborg V7 -> sold it and bought a Roccat Isku -> sold it and bought a Roccat Ryos MK Pro
I guess i'll start with what i want!
Mechanical
Backlighting (lots of options)
few additional gimmicks :D
Quiet keystrokes

Really, the last one is more important as most of my keyboards when in full use sound like bongos - too loud.

I like the look of the following:

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth 2014 Elite
Razer DeathStalker Ultimate Elite

Now, i really like the extra features on the DeathStalker - but im not 100% sure on the keys - however, i like the keys on the Blackwidow but i dont like that there isn't a great deal of other bits - similar to the DS.
So - im looking for some advice/opinions please :)
Only interested in buying from OCUK so any other keyboard suggestions need to be from their store.
Also - is the price difference of (as near as makes no difference) £100 properly justified if i go for the Deathstalker? seems a heavy price tag :D

£220 is ridiculous for a keyboard IMO, especially for one that isn't mechanical. How about Corsair's K70/95, or the RGB version of those keyboards?
 
Another vote for the Corsair K95! I'm not sure if the new RGB design is the exac same as the K95 but I love my old one.

Cherry Red switches that are pretty quiet, types well and has some decent functions.
 
oh bugger it.
Went into my local town today to try and find the Ultimate Stealth. Could only find the Ultimate, so bought it - with 1 view in mind.
Buy it, test it, if i like it, return it and order the ultimate stealth from here.
Mission accepted, completed - ultimate stealth ordered :D
 
I was under the impression das keyboards were of superior quality to ducky, I guess they weren't in the conversation due to them not being stocked here?
 
DAS Keyboards were once very good, but they got worse over the years. Not sure how the fourth version holds up, but the third one was said to be poor, especially for the price they charge. (This might have only been true around launch though)

edit: Quick search seems to suggest they got their act together for the new version, and that it is rather good.

Sure, corsair have problems, but its mainly software related is it not?

if you ignore the RED and BLUE LED issues in all of the threads in this sub forum

Ducky have a good rep here at least very low return rates. one of the best among our peripherals.

Hadnt thought about the ducky boards - i'm far too impatient lol
Once i bought the blackwidow from a well known store i fell in love with it -> just hoping the Stealth Elite version of it comes tomorrow in good time :D
 
Love my Ducky Shine 3 TKL, if I were to replace again right now Ducky would be my first port of call.

Had one of the Corsair RGB boards and the problems were quite frankly laughable.

Ive had a Filco. every ducky I have had has been the same quality or better.

Das are good, but I wouldnt say superior. I am in talks with them at the moment actually.

I have no actual words, you work for OCUK, and your slating a product you sell?
 
Well here's the catch,

He's defending ducky as your info is wrong. I mean you can't have possibly heard enough stories about ducky to convince you they are bad without hearing about the various issues with Corsair over the past few years.

buy what you want that's fine but please don't bad mouth a product you clearly don't have any real evidence on. Normally in advice threads you don't support/recommend a product you haven't used If you own and use corsair great I'm glad you've had no issues.

I have received the Ultimate Stealth from OCUK (yet again awesome customer service) BUT - i like the bloody Ultimate (not the stealth version) better!!

The keys on this are lush but i kind of miss the little clicky sound from the other one lol
