Been trying to wrap my head around 4k`s :D i know there is just so meny to choose from
and also tv`s led tvs smart tv`s 3d tvs

its just madness i tell ya.

---------------------------------------------

see the prices for decent 4k monitors on ocuk are just about as pricy as 4k tv`s and with 4k tvs you get active 3d and better 4k pannels and more features.

i just want a 4k monitor around the £1000 mark that will be around 40"
and that you can game on and have no issues with lag.... or ghosting, and have spectacular 4k movie viewing.

i know its hard isnt it..... so much to choose from my head is spinning lol

Well you already answer your own question...;)

As most TV's have high input lag...Mainly caused by all the extra electric junk them have stuffed into them compared to a monitor..

Are there any 4k TV's in that price range that can connect a pc and get 60hz refresh rate? Aren't most 4k's pretty useless for pc gaming as you can only connect via hdmi giving 30hz refresh rate?

I'm not familiar with the 4K 40" TV market so I can't say for sure, but most new 4K TVs have HDMI 2.0 so if you've got a GTX 970/980 then you are good to go :)

There are 1-2 4K TVs now that have 60Hz DP most your stuffed unless you have a 970/980 currently but you will have at least 40ms in some cases 100+ms lag with a 4K TV though saying that even some 4K monitors have as much as 60ms lag :|

EDIT: For a grand you could probably buy something like the Samsung U28D590 or one of the gsync ones for gaming/other use and get a reasonably decent 4K TV, though the better 4K TVs start around 1200.

What people should be looking for(in a 4K TV) is HDMI 2.0 and 4k@60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma - the chroma part is important(not all 4K TVs do it) otherwise your hi-res computer images won't display properly.

EDIT:

Read this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_subsampling
