So just bought a near new iPhone 6+ and its locked to the O2 network. I am on sim only EE deal, so I could either unlock and insert existing sim but dunno how to do this?

Or I could move to a sim only O2 deal, whats out there thats worth considering?...... currently paying £18 month.

TBH my reception with EE on my HTC One pants so would consider switching to O2 if there are decent deals.

I just signed up for O2 £26 a month with 5GB data 2000 mins and unlimited texts but looking at that site I'd be better with 3 :(

O2 usually unlocks for free if you're a customer.

Looking on the O2 site it seems different for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus however: http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-and-devices/unlocking-your-iphone-and-using-it-on-another-network

We won't be unlocking iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus for a while. We're prioritising our stock of these devices for customers who want to use them on the O2 network. The exception to this will be O2 Refresh customers who've completely paid off their Device Plan in full - we will therefore allow iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to be unlocked.

Not sure how true but a friend of mine said if you go into the apple store and tell them your going working abroad for a few months and would like to use your phone over there on another network they will unlock it for free.

Im getting unlim min/texts and 5Gb data for £19.
Call them up and haggle ;)

Seeing as your using your own handset you should get a better deal.
