Will the Surface Pro 3 come down in price?

they will continue to increase in value, i suggest you invest all your money in Surface Pro 3's instead of putting it into a bank..

I hope they do! I'm waiting to buy one but I cannot bring myself to pay for one. My original RT is at times painful just browsing the web but it's still very good and functional.

Yeah, I dunno if I should keep waiting on or find an equivalent.

I bought one when they first came out in the US. I was over for business, so took advantage of the prices there. the 256gb one with the i5 and 8gb of RAM plus the type cover, microsoft sculpt comfort bluetooth mouse and a nice sleeve case all for around 990GBP :)

They do look nice. I think by the time the surface pro 4 comes out, with that new type of processor, they'll be pretty good.

At the moment ive just heard too many overheating stories.

I've had one for a while and never had it overheat. There was something about the thermal warning kicking in on the core I7 but I seem to remember that was a firmware issue flagging the warning to early rather than an actual overheating problem.

It's not a gaming machine by any stretch but as a lightweight all rounder I love it - think of it as an alternative to a MacBook Air rather than anything else.

These do seem to be holding their value, wonder how much is MS controlling the channel rather than demand, I don't know a single person with one or who has even heard of one tbh.

I've got the core i5 8Gb/256Gb and it's £110 off on the Microsoft store at the moment (£999) which seems a decent deal (don't forget to add a keyboard taking it to £1100), i5/4Gb/128Gb is £750 (again you need to add £110 for k/b). I wouldn't expect them to drop in price as by the time they've been around long enough for a price drop they get replaced by a new model.

Similar specced MacBook Air comes in at £1200 with me doing a quick spec up on apple.com although granted that is a 13" rather than 12" and you might be able to get edu discount. Flip side for SP3 is touch etc.

Sorry, that's without the keyboard, i'll reword that post - MS store doing between £100 & £149 (depending on model) off + free sleeve/case and delivery at the moment.

Just noticed if you qualify for student pricing the core i3/4gb/64Gb is £575inc VAT and case (add a keyboard - actually i think they really should just bundle them together, who on earth is going to buy one without a keyboard?)

Yeah, that's the problem. £749 for i5 with a keyboard would be tempting, but they won't do a nice deal with the 2 combined for a decent price. Really frustrating. Not paying £749 and then £109 for the keyboard..
