Yup. Hits hard too, beast on Atheon, even if the crit hitbox is a bit temperamental. Some bosses that turn attention to you after a couple of hits can be a bit tricky mind. Kinda wish I hadn't spent coins on a new P&T, but nvm.

First solar nightfall is going to be mental, Black Hammer is highest impact sniper in the game I think?
 
Any of the XB1 chaps around tonight and fancy the challenge of dragging my lvl 27 Warlock through the weekly heroic and Nightfall before it resets?

On the flip side...

1) killing mobs of thralls will be quicker with the 331 weapons so could save you from dying if you get over run.
2) you forgot that taking out the swordbearer is very important to get done quickly. 331 attack primaries will make this quicker/easier.
3) while the timer doesnt start, the health regen does stop. No point taking ages using 300 attack and losing half the teams health when you could get it done quicker and have less chance of losing health. Would also stop quite so many people ****ing about with the chalice as soon as its collected when they could be smashinv the sworbearer instead.
4) while one person kills crota with a sword, the rest should be killing ads and getting rid of boomers. This again is quicker with a 331 primary.
5)this point ran away from your list because it was scared of my 331 primaries :p
6)true, but a 331 would help 15% more than a 300 :p
7) what about bodyshots? Can you be lazy with a 331 and just blast 2 bodyshots instead, making life easier?

The point you also forgot.... if 1-2 members get boomered or whatever, the team needs to take out the oversoul. This will be easier if everyone is dealing out 15% more damage.
Ogres will go down quicker to 331 weapons.

I'm not saying that 300 weapons are suddenly bad. But theres no escaping the fact that they're no longer as good as most 331 weapons unless they have an epic perk (fatebringer firefly for thrall maze etc). A better example would be that nobody ever said blue weapons were good enough for a level 29 the hard mode on VoG and that the extra attack of a 300 wasn't really important. It's the same thing for crotas raid, possibly more so because everything is so time dependant.

Not a great night last night as my wife was very poorly thus I must apologise to whoever joined my fireteam as I was logging off at that point. :(

I did manage to solo (cheese as why not..) the Abyss on all three characters before everything kicked off though. Got raid gauntlets for Pigtails & Moody. I am also up to 9 shards & 9 energies in total which is quite nice. :)

Attempting the lamp explosion jump on my hunter was an absolute pain as it kept launching me in the wrong direction or, on a couple of occasions, in the right direction but I immediately fell off the wall on landing...
 
Which 331 primaries are better than VoG 300s? I haven't compared them all, but I do have a 331 Crypt Dweller SR1 scout rifle. It hits a little harder than VoC, but VoC with field scout has *much* higher DPS.

I have a 331 One Way Ticket.000 cluster bomb launcher. Hits nice and hard....but again, 1 round magazine. Hezen Vengeance, solar cluster, but a 3 round magazine/tube....*much* higher DPS.

It's only a small sample, but does show that 331 isn't the be all and end all.

That's why i said with a few exceptions. Obviously there'll be some bad and some good of each type so you'll have to actually sit and look at which would be better for your playstyle.

I've got the calling that has identical stats/slightly higher impact (with armour piercing and third eye) and it hits for 15% more damage on every hit. Yeah i have to pull the trigger, but if it hits better than the VoC then i don't care. The saterienne rapier from the crucible quartermaster is also MILES ahead of the VoC as it has the firefly perk, same as the fatebringer. Obviously i'm not saying every 331 is better, that would be moronic. But if you look around there are better 331 weapons for most types, so if there's a decent, easily obtainable replacement, then you'd be stupid to stick with the lower damage weapon.

The only time the VoC will still be applicable is upon taking out loads of solar shield enemies or for a solar burn weekly event. Outside of that, it just isn't the king anymore.

So true, i've really enjoyed using it during void burn and always felt it needed to be about 50% of how it is during void burn, for every day use.

Hehe, no worries.

After getting repeatedly dominated by the knife wielding class in PvP I'm thinking of giving one of them a go, they seem good fun in melee. Hopefully see you today/tonight depending when you're working then.
