*** Sony Xperia Z3 Compact ***

This phone is buggy as hell, Had S3 and S4 never had a single issue with either and just fancied a change.

So far.

1) I am on three, random no signal times that require a reboot of the phone to get back to normal
2) Headphone jack randomly stops recognising headphones plugged in, requires surprise surprise a reboot.
3) when taking a photo and recording to the SD card, randomly came up with Memory Error that requires a reboot.

None of this is ideal.

Drop survivability not good without a case...
In work on Friday, I took my case off to charge my phone and because it is so slippery, I dropped it on the floor. Screen cracked and unresponsive now. You can still see things fine though - it's taunting me.
I've had it less than three months! I'm absolutely gutted.

I love the phone but I'm not sure I can carry on with it after this. When I get it repaired I may have to sell it. Seems a bit weird for it to be waterproof and dustproof, but not able to cope with a simple drop from desk height. Seriously, if they did a Z3C Rugged version it would be the best phone ever. But who has never dropped their phone? Especially one so slippery?

I'm currently trying to work out how I can back up everything without access to the screen. Suggestions welcome.

I had the same problem for the same reason and had to connect it to the pc and use the sony software one of the options is backup. it also let me remote wipe it which was more important to me

P.S good luck they have had my phone over a month now to fix the screen but mines the z3 (not compact)

Dropped mine loads lately only got one of those cheap glass protectors on the screen and its managed to survive been a few times though where i dread to pick it up after ive dropped it

Update is out, solved the camera vs "google now" "microphone in use" bug, among other things, but still KK, not LP

Cant help you with points 2 and 3, but I had the same issue with Three and rebooting the phone. Someone posted this earlier in the thread and I used it, no issues since: http://whatstevedid.com/post/99551489230/xperia-devices-and-the-three-network-how-to-fix

Is there an app or some way to have like a hidden folder for pictures/videos? I have them in seperate folders within the phones memory, but going into album its just a collection of all of them. Obviously there are some pictures which I dont want popping up in amongst the safe for work stuff...

Use any file explorer app to create a file called ".nomedia" in the same folder as your  files.

Yes you can hide and show any folder using apps like Quickpic and if you use them exclusively to manage media then all the better. Just Menu > Show Hidden to show them again.

Alternatively any dedicated file explorer like the one that comes with the Xperia will see them anyway, they will just be hidden from gallery browser apps and selection lists when attaching photos like from WhatsApp etc.

does anyone know if there's a way to stop the pics that are taken in burst mode being put into separate folders as its annoying when your browsing through the album and you have to go to each separate folder for the pictures

Merry Christmas guys :D

As a little post xmas surprise I'm gonna get my missus a Z3C in white as she keeps going on about them.

I'd just like to ask:

Best place to buy a sim free one in white?
Best place to get a good, clear/transparent case for it?

Thanks guys :D

I got my orange one from Mobile Phones Direct. Aside from it not being packaged very well it was fine and they were the cheapest place for it at the time.

As for case, I went with a Case Mate Barely There. It's alright, but it's not a 100% perfect fit and it can still feel a bit slippy. There's another one someone recommended to me a page or two back that I'm tempted to try but it looked bulkier.
