Just curious on this one, not after spending too much as it's for a relative but they've currently got a GTX480 slurping rather a lot of juice.
What's a roughly equal modern card with lower power requirements? Trying to find a useful "ranking" list so point me at that if you know one.

Toms Hardware

All 2011 Gaming Graphics Charts
Nvidia GTX 480
Geforce GTX 480
~298 W

Then you can browse the next charts see what you like.

im browsing by "Power Consumption Load"

Modern card well - almost anything will be as good - depends on budget. If you state that then im sure someone will easily help.

look at a Radeon HD 7850 - for a base point on comparisons

If you're really after the lowest power card that will match a 480, then you're looking at a 750ti which trades blows through the benches while drawing 200W less:

If you're after one that actually beats the 480, then I'd say have a look on OcUK, find a GPU in your budget and check it out in the link above to see how it compares to a 480 power and performance wise.

depends on your priorities, a 7950 may be much faster but the power draw is very similar. If you actually want a power saving then I wul look elsewhere, 750Ti perhaps.
