Had to cancel an interview due to illness

People are contagious before hey even have any symptoms so with your attitude no one should ever turn up to work just in case they are infected!
 
I went to an interview a few years back - actually it was the assessment a week after the interview - while ill with a really bad cold. As such, I couldn't concentrate, couldn't think properly and didn't perform to my usual standard. Had I asked for it to rescheduled I'd have probably got that job.

While that may be true, you're still contagious when you are coughing and spluttering everywhere, like so many idiots in your modern office. "Manning up and working" isn't really cool if you give everyone else the same.

Basic hygiene and manners ensures that wont be the case.

There is no way I would employ anyone who didn't attend an interview. I wouldn't even employ someone who was late for the interview.
 
I'd instantly dismiss any chance of you getting this job is I were recruiting. You've just sent the worse possible message to a future employer :(
 
If I was the employer I would not give you a second chance. It shows me you would ring in sick every time you have a cold. I haven't rang in sick for work in about 4 years.
