Do any of you guys deal with a staff and resource budget in your jobs? I have my review next month and I feel I'm underpaid for the budget I manage and the job I do so am trying to get a pay rise.

I should have added my staff and resource budget is £100k going upto £125k in April, so not a lot in the grand scheme of things

How many people is that budget for/do you manage? Helps to put it in perspective a bit more.

Just to clarify, do the staff wages come out of that budget?

As others have said doesn't seem like very much if it does!

Sorry yes the staff wages do come out of the budget and they are low paid(but there is nothing I can do about that, my wages also come out of that so you can see how well I am paid lol)ATM I have 3 staff and am taking on 3 p/t after Xmas( why I said I had 6 staff) I'm only on one little corner of the site, the whole site has about 50-60 staff but I'm not sure on the budget for the whole site.

Is the £25k increase to allow for those p/t staff?

If not, then there's your pay rise for yourself and your team

For arguments sake lets divide it to 25k for you and 16.6k for each other 6 staff.

Your staff are either underpaid or the difference between the normal staff and you is far too narrow.

However, since the budget has just been increased by 25K and this includes you; I don't think you'll have much luck asking for a raise

125k for 7 peoples wages?!

Depending on what you do that's abysmal

I thought as much, hence the reason I was thinking of leaving and utilising my PCV/HGV licences ( it wouldn't be much of a pay cut)

The perks of the job used to be quite good, 7 weeks holiday a year, 8am-3pm working hours but they are starting to mess with that

If money isn't a massive issue that sounds very nice.

If you're young I'd be chasing the money and asking for a payrise whilst exploring other options
