Hi guys, ive been wanting one for a while as i think it could be a useful piece of kit. My only requirements are that its pretty low profile so probs roller rather than casters and ideally not cost mega money. Would also be nice if it could be manoeuvred side ways not sure if they all can but figured i'd ask.

Cheers

Chris

The one muffin linked to looks good.

But if you have a Costco card or know someone with one then get down there for one of the low profile Arcan jacks. Similar to above but lighter and better looking :p

I have the one from Costco and it's hardly ever been used. Really well put together and very light for what it can take. The drifters used to use them a lot as they are easy to chuck about.

I've got one of the SGS aluminium low-profile jacks. Very good build quality and surprisingly light :)

I have a standard Clarke jack, good enough for now but doesnt get the car high enough, so I have to squeeze under, would recommend investing in a strong unit that can lift high.

The american jack at Costco seems to be highly rated.

I can definitely recommend the aluminium 'race' trolley jack from Costco - superbly built piece of kit and works just fine.

Compared to some of the Clarkes versions of similar load capacity it seems a lot tougher.

Costco also do a 3T low-access jack which is cheaper than the aluminium version, I originally bought one of these but it was way too heavy to be practical for me - 46Kg to be percise

You can go online order free delivery and pay 5% non member fee, if you don't know anyone with a card

Don't buy cheap crap. I went for a £10 2ton jobby on my e39. As i removed spare from under car i saw in slow motion each wheel pop off one by one. Then jack fall to ground when piston seal gone.

Managed to jack it up with a normal jobby but always rattled after :(
