Hi guys,

Its been a while since I bought new case fans but I'm in the market again - I think Yate Loons were all the rage the last time I checked :D

I need 4; 2x in the front of my case, drawing air in and 2x inside my case, behind the previous 2, pulling air across my hard drives.

They'll be managed by a fan controller but the quieter the better I guess.

What are my options? I don't really have a budget so to speak but I need them to last, fans aren't something I upgrade regularly as you can probably tell...

Thanks.

The corsair fans are pretty ok. For intake you want the sp models, for exhaust the af ones. The sp's are good for pushing air through obstacles like hdd cages.

Okay so my lovely new, shiny P280 arrived today and I'm seriously weighing up my fan options now...

I'm going down the fan controller road, as I am now with my P182, and which I've been very happy with.

I'm going to keep the 2x top stock Antec fans and see how I get on with them and the rear fan will be pulled out to house my H60 with its 'silent' push/pull setup. I can't remember what they are but they're good fans!

So that leaves me requiring 2x front of case fans that will be drawing air in, over my hard drives and then I need 2x fans behind the drive bays pulling that air over my graphics card/components. I guess the top 2 fans of the 4 will need to push the most air when running at max, the bottom 2 are kind of auxiliary coolers.

Thoughts?

Thanks mate, can I ask what's the formula for conversion?

4x of these probably won't be too bad then eh? Lots of air flow at max, cheap AND fairly quiet ;)

Quick question, do these fans fit flush to your case? The wavy edges on them look a bit deceiving...

I have two, a 140mm and a 120mm, if you look at the pics of them you can just about work it out.

The circular fan shroud is the part that fits flush, with the four corner mounts coming out and raising up to match the shroud level at the corners. Hard to see the 3D shape on a 2D screen.

Thanks mate; ordered :)
