It really is pathetic. James Corden will get an OBE. For what?

John Hurt is getting a far more deserved knighthood. A CBE which is higher ranking but how long did it take him to get on a New Years Honours considering how long he's been in the business and considering what a great actor he is. How does Corden get anywhere near being knighted? Sir James Corden, lol. It really wasn't that long ago when he was hosting Big Brother's little brother. A few crappy comedy shows and you become a Knight. Really? Really??

James Corden isn't being honoured for his comedy work, he's being honoured for his charity work (Children in Need, Comic Relief, Great Ormond, Street Hospital, Sport Relief,
Teenage Cancer Trust, Trekstock, UNICEF and so on).

Cliff Richard and Tom Jones are referred to as Sir and they're OBE, but I think that's a media thing (the 'Sir') rather than official.

Tom Jones has a Kt (Knighthood) as well as an OBE, so he has the right to the title "Sir".

Cliff Richard was the first pop/rock star to be awarded a Kt, and therefore also has the right to the title "Sir".

Both were already members of a Chivalry Order as they had received OBE's previously.

So both are official.

Bob Geldof on the other hand has an honorary Knighthood (Honorary KBE) and so doesn't have the right to the title "Sir".

The ranks go from lowest first:

MBE....Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
OBE....Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
CBE....Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
KBE....Knight of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
GBE....Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Kt...Knight Bachelor. (Is not a Chivalric Order on its own)

There are others, such as The Order of Bath...etc.

I'm not against him getting the honour, but it does seem a bit early given his work on any front hasn't been exceptional

I wonder where his deep caring for those worse off than him went when he bought his Porsche Cayenne S. Up his fat arse probably.
