If like me you are very bad at saving I have an idea some may like, The ability to transfer money to an OCUK account, This way when you have some cash spare you can transfer it to your OCUK account and use it as a sort of piggy bank until you get the amount you need for a GPU, Case or any other OCUK stocked item.

Obviously paper work/terms of use would need to be put in place to say once it's in the store it's there for good much like Steams crediting system that works extremely well.

Thoughts OCUK staff ?

Seems a good idea for dedicated builders/frequent upgraders - otherwise you typical Bob and Annie (like myself) wouldn't particularly use it, unless a big upgrade was planned I can imagine.

Sorry for not being staff, just thought I'd give my opinion. :3

I doubt this could be done easily. OCUK would be keeping money for say 200 people, the amount of paperwork and security involved wouldn't be viable.

Shall I move this to CS for them to see?

Up to you bud :)

Steam do it easily enough by turning the cash into non refundable Steam credit, The same could be done here, OCUK credit, Works the same way as money but it's permanently attached to your OCUK account :)

I know I'd use it on a weekly basis, Transferring £50 to £200 a month or £10 a week to the account.

Could you not do this yourself by buying gift vouchers?

Yep but this way it would be on your account at all times :)

I'd rather have the ability to have instore credit than a voucher, A voucher can be easily lost and is more cumbersome than having credit to a store you shop regularly at.

No thank you. Why should the shop pick up interest on peoples money? It would have to go into some sort of account to be protected if the store went under (bigger companies than OCUK have gone bust). It would be too much hassle to implement.

No thanks here as well. I like to shop around and pick up bargains.
Why don't you just open up another savings account and just use it for buying your PC components, as and when you need to. And you get to keep the interest, bonus.:D

I am sure the vouchers stay in your account, they are not a psychical item to be sent!

to the OP:

Why not just ask your bank for another bank account, or open an account in another bank? Then you can transfer money to it as and when you want for buying things. And also if you have some emergency, you have that money there if you needed it rather than having it at a store who wont give it back to you. Its best to hang on to your money rather than have someone else hang on to it.

^Pretty much these two. I've never really understood the idea of locking yourself to a vendor by using store money/vouchers etc. Why not just use actual money and as suggested above, create a 'piggy bank' account with funds in there for OCUK. :p

I like the idea very much.

I don't like having debt, although the Hitachi Finance deal is very, very good, i'd prefer cash on the barrel head.

I have a Steam Wallet, if OcUK were able implement the same sort of thing, i would use it.

What with Hitachi credit, paypal, amazon pay, debit, credit cards and even cash, there are no inhibitions to buying at OCUK and spending your money.

I expect OCUK themselves would not want to become more of a financial institution, so no a bad idea. Save in a bank and pay when you have money.

Indeed, I put money regularly into my Steam wallet as I know I will spend it when it comes to sales and it's better to put it in whjile I have it spare :p

Would love to see a proper staff response to this :)
