Can I choose nexus 5 still seeing as Google decided to bring it back to market? :D

Oh and Andy I've just added you on G+ if that's OK, enjoy your videos etc.

Note 4. Screen, camera, pen, performance are very good and it will stay top of the tree for a time to come.

Nexus 6 for me.

Software is too important to ignore and Touchwiz is still too big of a mess to appreciate. Samsung are improving it and got rid of the lag but the UI design is still really poorly thought out.

ROMs were useful when android was not very developed as an OS and squeezing performance out of phones was a high priority but Lollipop is excellent and to me there seem to be fewer and fewer reasons to install custom ROMs; in the case of the Note 4 it would be to try and get it back to stock

Best android phone of 2014? Has to be the Moto G 2nd Gen.

Best value phone around and a real joy to use.

Personally I thought the 1st Gen was better and better value. I think the OPO is better value than the Moto G 2nd Gen.

2nd gen has bigger screen (much better imo), better camera, and an SD slot. Can't see how the first is better tbh.

Depends on what is important?

The 1st gen has bettery battery life, better speaker (even though its a single rear speaker, its louder and better IMO), better screen, even though it's smaller, it has higher PPI, better colours and brightness from what I've read about the 2nd gen? and cheaper, got the wife's brand new for £90! :)

Note 4 for me, many reasons but the few that instantly come to mind...

+ Build
+ Battery life
+ Fast charge
+ THE SCREEN

Exactly this for me.

I voted for oneplus one.
Had it 7 months

It wasn't the cost but that was certainly a bonus.

1080p screen and not silly 4k style ones which just hurt performance and battery for no need
Battery life - one of most important for me
Android OS how it was meant
Nice grippy back
NLED
Cost is just a bonus

Yellow screen issue was present and multi touch but both have been 'fixed'. Would make same choice again

I'm not concerned about gpu or cpu. Battery life and comfort and OS skin is my concern.

Tried z3 and found it incredibly sharp to hold.
Don't like anything Samsung especially software.. The s5 just looked horrible
Moto offerings were a letdown imo
Nexus 6 - far too big for me. Which was a shame

Samsung galaxy 3

3 years on and still does everything I need, never misses a beat and owes me nothing :)

Hope I've not jinxed it!

Z3 owner here and very impressed with it.

Already have an SGS5 for work, and was going to go with the M8 as my own phone but I got to use a lot of the phones in the list and the Sony was the only one that blew me away.

The battery is very good - much better than I got with the Sammy or HTC. The camera is much better than the M8, and I think it's also above the S5's camera too (especially in low light conditions). Saying that, I'm a point-and-click kinda user, so perhaps if I knew what I was doing then I'd get better results from the other. It feels nice to hold, and is noticeably thinner than my work S5, albeit slightly taller... perhaps a tad too tall really. The power button on the side is a good idea, imo, and adds to the sleek-iness of the phone's look (I'll admit I do miss having proper buttons on the front though).

The only real disadvantage of the Z3 is that it's glass on both the front and back... the thing slips off any surfaces that aren't 100% horizontal. And I have hard wood floors at home :( It's not shattered yet but I'm not sure how long my luck is gonna last. I should really get a case for it, but it'd ruin the appearance and I'm fickle ;)

It took quite a bit for me to ditch Samsung or HTC for something I'm paying for myself, but Sony have managed to do it with the Z3.
