Physicist builds Star Trek ‘Warp Drive’ in his garage

I find it a little interesting how many things that were for a very long time very very strictly science fiction became possible in 2014 albeit some of them aren't feasible to actually do but for the first time there is solid scientific basis. (Warp drives being one of them).
 
Whenever there's a story about an American inventing something in his garage(all Americans think garages possess magical powers) it's typically quite safe to file it - in the bin.

The early Sci-Fi concept of "Warp drive" basically inspired this sort of thing
